On the night of October 5th, under the sparkling lights of Ho Chi Minh City,Arrival From SwedenThe band, the world's most successful ABBA band, has launched its "The Music of ABBA" tour in Vietnam, delivering an emotional and nostalgic musical evening.
But it wasn't just a night of melodies; the performance also marked a significant cultural exchange, with Swedish artists specifically wearing traditional Vietnamese ao dai (long dress) to perform. This image not only celebrated the beauty of Vietnamese culture but also created a special connection between the artists and the audience, making the evening profound and unforgettable.

Established in 1995,Arrival From SwedenHe has toured in over 70 countries and collaborated with more than 100 symphony orchestras, including the Saigon Symphony Orchestra (SPO) in performances in Vietnam. With the participation of drummer Åke Sundqvist, a former member of ABBA's orchestra, each performance delivers authenticity and powerful emotion.
ABBA was a globally popular Swedish band in the 1980s, with hits like "Dancing Queen," "The Winner Takes It All," and "Happy New Year." Although the original members no longer perform,Arrival From SwedenRecognized as the official successor band to ABBA, they ensured they accurately recreated the music and performance style of the legendary band. They even received special support from two ABBA members, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, when they were gifted the unreleased song "Just a Notion" in 1999. This song was later re-released by ABBA in 2021 on their album Voyage.
Arrival From Sweden is recognized as the official successor band to ABBA, ensuring they accurately recreate the music and performance style of the legendary band.
Not just limited to Ho Chi Minh City,Arrival from SwedenWe will continue to meet music lovers in other major cities including Hanoi (October 12, 2024) and Da Nang (October 8, 2024). Each location promises to deliver a memorable night of music, where audiences can immerse themselves in an endless musical atmosphere and be captivated by enchanting melodies.
During this tour,Arrival From SwedenIn collaboration with 70 artists from SPO, a unique concert space was created where the timeless melodies of ABBA were recreated through orchestras and talented artists. In addition to the music, the program also featured an auction of ABBA-related memorabilia, such as musical instruments and vintage vinyl records, giving fans the opportunity to own iconic items.
Also on this occasion, 18 members of the band from Sweden had an exciting travel experience in Ho Chi Minh City.
The "Music of ABBA" tour is also part of a series of events celebrating 55 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden, organized by the Hanoi Opera House, SPO, and VietShow with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The tour also carried a profound humanitarian message, as the band and organizers did not forget to express their gratitude and respect for the friendship between the two countries. The event was not just a simple concert, but also a message about the strong and lasting bond between Vietnam and Sweden, conveyed through music – a language without borders, connecting music lovers wherever they may be.
