"Taste of Sweden - Afternoon Treat" shares the rich culinary traditions and cultural life of Sweden and Vietnam, while offering a unique opportunity for collaboration and exchange on interesting Swedish-Vietnamese culinary practices.
The event attracted a large number of participants, especially young people.
At the event, primarily aimed at young Vietnamese people, attendees will enjoy a combination of delicious Swedish snacks called "Mellanmål" and their Vietnamese counterparts, often known as "afternoon snacks." Both "Mellanmål" and "afternoon snacks" refer to light meals enjoyed between main courses, usually in the afternoon or midday. These tasty snacks provide nourishment and help maintain focus throughout the day. While the specific dishes may differ, both concepts emphasize the importance of taking breaks and enjoying light meals throughout the day.

Under the guidance of renowned Swedish chef Erik Videgård, in collaboration with Daewoo Hotel's head chef, Nguyen Dang Linh, attendees witnessed the preparation of a series of enticing dishes and drinks. The event welcomed 300 students aged 10-15, and featured dishes using Vietnamese ingredients.
Beyond stimulating the taste buds, this culinary experience aims to enhance awareness of traditional cooking methods and create a space for cultural exchange between Sweden and Vietnam. The event will also feature fun quizzes and games, adding to the enriching experience for all participants.
The Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam, Ann Måwe, emphasized that this is a testament to the strong diplomatic relationship between the two countries and the high regard for their cuisine and cultural exchange.
"The 'Taste of Sweden - Afternoon Treat' symbolizes a significant milestone in the enduring friendship between Sweden and Vietnam. By celebrating culinary traditions, it helps us enhance cultural understanding and build stronger bonds. I am delighted to witness the fusion of Swedish and Vietnamese flavors, and I believe this event will leave a positive impression on all participants, fostering a deeper understanding of our shared culture and heritage," said Ann Måwe.
