The 11th Southern Vietnam Traditional Cake Festival 2024, themed “Rich Flavors of the South,” will take place from April 17th to 21st at Binh Thuy District Square, Can Tho City. This is a unique cultural event aimed at preserving and promoting the value of Vietnamese culinary culture, while also introducing the cultural beauty of the Mekong Delta region to domestic and international tourists.
Visitors will have the opportunity to admire many different types of cakes from the Southern region of Vietnam.
This year's festival brings together more than 250 stalls, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy and discover over 100 unique traditional cakes, along with regional specialties and OCOP products from all over the country. In particular, visitors will be able to admire a giant Vietnamese pancake (banh xeo) with a diameter of 4 meters and participate in many attractive activities such as: a Traditional Cake Competition, demonstrations of cake-making by artisans, and a space showcasing the national intangible cultural heritage of Thuan Hung rice paper making...
The highlight of the festival is the Traditional Cake Competition, where talented artisans compete in creating and showcasing delicious cakes that reflect the rich cultural heritage. Visitors also have the opportunity to experience the exhibition space displaying various types of traditional cakes, learn about the traditional cake-making process, and participate in other unique cultural activities.
The festival attracts a large number of artisans from all over the country.

1. Opening Ceremony of the Festival
- Time: 7:00 PM, April 17, 2024 (corresponding to the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month).
- Location: The main stage of the festival.
2. Offering traditional cakes on the occasion of Hung Vuong Ancestor Commemoration Day (10th day of the 3rd lunar month)
- Time: 7:00 AM, April 18, 2024 (corresponding to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month).
- Location: Hung King Temple in Can Tho City (detailed script according to specific rituals will be provided)
3. Traditional Cake Making Competition and Demonstration Program on How to Make Traditional Cakes
- Time: From April 17, 2024 to April 21, 2024 (corresponding to the 9th - 13th day of the 3rd lunar month).
- Venue: Competition and Performance Area within the Bình Thủy District Square.
4. Organize a traditional cake exhibition area; a giant pancake-making demonstration area; a recreation area of the Thuan Hung rice paper making craft (a national intangible cultural heritage); and demonstrations of how to make various traditional cakes.
- Time: From April 17, 2024 to April 21, 2024 (corresponding to the 9th to 13th day of the 3rd lunar month).

5. Organize stalls and decorate the festival space.
