Instead of appearing in his familiar image as a famous actor, Hua Wei Wen recently "debuted" to the public as a "young artist," someone passionate and determined to pursue painting.
Following the success of "The Peaceful Zone" and "The Dreamy Zone," Hứa Vĩ Văn's third solo exhibition, "Ephemeral," showcases a series of paintings he created during the peak of the pandemic in late 2021. The theme revolves around the festive atmosphere and sense of community that we almost lost during lockdown. Using colors that evoke chaos, crowds, and noise, Hứa Vĩ Văn aims to recreate the feeling of "human" events – events considered natural – being abruptly brought to an end.
The exhibition runs until April 3rd, after which the artworks will be displayed online on the Artcific website.
His works attempt to capture and emulate, to some extent, the joy derived from crowds and the pleasure of human closeness, a nostalgic "old normal" before everyone had fallen into isolation.
Despite his desire to express positive emotions, Hứa Vĩ Văn's works cannot hide a sense of confinement and anxiety in their details. At the time of creation, he is forced to turn inward and immerse himself, naming a need for "meeting," "intimacy" that everyone is experiencing.

Beyond visual experiences, the exhibition also offers auditory experiences, allowing visitors to listen to the artist's insights into the creative process on the Genie audio social network platform by scanning the QR code under the artworks.

As a professional actor and film producer, and also a former model and singer, Hua Wei Wen has achieved much success in his artistic career. But under the shadow of painting, Hua Wei Wen considers himself only at the beginning of his artistic journey. He returns to painting with the mindset of a fine arts student, a time of initial enthusiasm, freedom, and easy creative inspiration.
Many artist friends came to support Hứa Vĩ Văn's "Ephemeral" exhibition.
Through this exhibition, the actor hopes that the audience can see a completely different side of Hua Wei Wen behind the glitz and glamour. He also stated that all proceeds from the exhibition will be used for charity fundraising, after deducting expenses for partners.
