The exhibition "The Peculiar Traveler, or the Story of Rejected Projects," featuring 24 models, designs, and constructions canceled for various humorous reasons, is attracting a large number of young people in Hanoi. Here, viewers can admire the comical reasons behind the complete projects that were rejected by the investors.
The 2018 design for the district children's center was canceled because it looked too strange, even stranger than the provincial children's center.
Despite being labeled "failures" or "rejected," the designs presented at the exhibition actually impressed artists, architects, art lovers, and even those who came out of curiosity, with their imaginative, pioneering ideas that transcended conventional architectural thinking.
This is considered a peculiar aspect of architecture, because since it was not constructed, these 24 designs are 24 original ideas, 24 pure experiments, entirely the free creative ideas of the architects and have not been influenced by any concessions or modifications from any other party.


"There must be some truth in what has been rejected. If so, perhaps we should look back and reflect more on what has been rejected instead of discarding it," architect Nguyen Ha shared about his exhibition.
