Crowded with tourists
Mr. Tran Van Chien, in Nghe An, shared: "After 1 year of trying to study, my 2 children both achieved excellent results. Through the media, I learned that Da Nang will be shooting fireworks again this year, so I rewarded them with a fireworks "party" on the opening night. Taking the bus in the morning, luckily there were no incidents along the way, so now (5 pm June 2) we are in Da Nang in time to watch the fireworks opening ceremony". Ms. Phan Thi Ngoc Lan, Director of the Central Bus Station (Da Nang City), said: Because it is the summer vacation time, especially Da Nang City is reorganizing the international fireworks festival after 2 years of interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this summer, the number of tourists coming to Da Nang for tourism and watching fireworks has increased a lot. Just on June 1 and 2 alone, the number of passenger cars arriving at the Central Bus Station is on average more than 300 trips per day, an increase of about 5 - 10% compared to normal days.
At Da Nang Station, according to Mr. Doan Kim Tuan - Captain of Da Nang Station Passenger Transport Team, the number of tourists coming to Da Nang Station on June 1 and 2 increased by nearly 50% compared to normal days. Specifically, on average, there are only about 800 visitors on normal days, but on these two days, on average, there are nearly 1,600 visitors coming to Da Nang each day. "To serve tourists traveling during this summer, especially serving tourists from the North to Da Nang for tourism combined with watching fireworks held in June and July 2023, the Railway industry has run 2 more pairs of Thong Nhat trains," Mr. Doan Kim Tuan added.
In particular, the number of tourists coming to Da Nang for tourism and watching fireworks by air accounts for the largest proportion. According to the leader of Da Nang International Airport, on June 2 alone, there were 130 domestic and international flights to this airport, equal to the period in 2019 before the COVID-19 epidemic. Mr. Litmanen, a Finnish tourist, who took a flight to Da Nang in the late afternoon of June 2, shared: "This is the first time I have come to Da Nang for tourism and watching fireworks. This year, my country continues to compete at DIFF-2023. In addition to enjoying the wonderful fireworks displays, I also cheer for the home team and hope that the Finnish Fireworks Team will achieve the championship result of DIFF-2023 like in DIFF-2019".
