The guidelines state that international visitors to Vietnam only need a negative test result 72 hours before departure by air if using the RT-PCR/RT-LAMP method; or within 24 hours if using a rapid test method.
There are no regulations requiring passengers arriving by air to be retested upon entry into Vietnam, nor are there any quarantine requirements. The guidelines also do not mention that passengers entering Vietnam must have a certificate proving they have received all doses of the Covid-19 vaccine or have recovered from the disease within the past 6 months.
Therefore, international visitors entering Vietnam by air only need to test negative for Covid-19 before departure, not after arrival, and can immediately participate in tourism activities.

People entering the country by land, rail, or sea can be tested before departure, similar to those entering by air, if the travel time is short. For longer trips, Covid-19 testing will be conducted at the border crossing.
Children under 2 years old entering the country by any means are not required to be tested for Covid-19, and if they have not been vaccinated or have never been infected with SARS-CoV-2, they are allowed to enter and participate in activities outside their place of residence with their parents or relatives.
In addition, entrants must complete a health declaration before entry and use the health declaration application (PC-COVID) during their stay in Vietnam. For 10 days from the date of entry, travelers must monitor their health and take preventive measures. If they experience any suspected symptoms, they must immediately notify the nearest health facility.
