Introducing "tech-driven" hotels is a new step for Alibaba Group in promoting its scientific and technological potential, developing its brand, and addressing the future challenges of tourism workforce.

Alibaba Group also asserted that the quality of service at these "tech" hotels would be no less professional or upscale than regular hotels, at reasonable room rates.

Guests can perform simple tasks such as check-in and unlocking their rooms using facial recognition technology, eliminating the need to go through the reception desk. Robots are strategically placed throughout the property, allowing guests to easily access information, receive guidance, and be assisted throughout their stay. Guests can also control the temperature, lighting, and other room settings using voice commands.

In addition, the entire hotel is managed by an artificial intelligence called "Tmall Genie," which receives all requests from guests, including shopping, scheduling room cleaning according to guest habits, controlling the hotel's electricity consumption, and more.
According to FlyZoo CEO Wang Gun, the deployment of robots, artificial intelligence, and technology has helped the group manage its new hotels more efficiently and reduce its workforce by half.
