According to the Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA), this year's VITM Hanoi 2022 fair has a new significance. It is an activity of tourism businesses in accordance with the Program for Economic and Social Recovery and Development, as well as the Government's Decision to fully reopen Vietnam's tourism sector from March 15, 2022.

In his opening remarks at the Fair, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet shared that: Tourism has experienced two years of stagnation and severe impact due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, the green economy is beginning to recover, starting with the reopening of all tourism activities from March 15th, followed by the VITM Hanoi 2022 International Tourism Fair. “This is one of the important events to restart trade activities, connect, cooperate, and restore and develop tourism nationwide,” the Deputy Minister affirmed.
The Deputy Minister emphasized: “This is also a task and a challenge for Vietnamese tourism in the coming time. The tourism industry needs to focus on promoting investment, renovating and upgrading tourism infrastructure, investing in the development of new products, new destinations, and new flight routes according to the needs and new tourism trends after the pandemic.”

The VITM Hanoi 2022 International Tourism Fair features numerous side events and activities with diverse content related to tourism recovery and development. Localities and businesses are making the most of the four days of the fair to gather information, seek cooperation opportunities, and develop in the new phase. This is an opportunity for localities and businesses to proactively link and cooperate to create momentum for the recovery of Vietnamese tourism in the coming period.
