Huong Tra village is located on the Tam Ky River, in the southern suburbs of the city. Hundreds of years ago, local people planted Dalbergia tonkinensis trees along the dike to prevent erosion and flooding. Unlike the Dalbergia tonkinensis (Dalbergia tonkinensis) in the North, the yellow Dalbergia tonkinensis is called "garden fragrant tree" by people in Central Vietnam.
Currently, the city of Tam Ky has nearly 5,000 Dalbergia tonkinensis trees in full bloom, displaying vibrant yellow blossoms along many streets. The highest concentration is in Huong Tra village, home to the Cua Garden with its nearly 300-year-old Dalbergia tonkinensis trees. Since 2017, the Tam Ky city government has chosen Huong Tra village to host the Dalbergia tonkinensis flower festival, attracting thousands of visitors. In the future, Huong Tra village will continue its plan to develop into a community-based ecotourism village, becoming an attractive destination for tourists.
