The flight from Incheon to Cam Ranh carried 37 passengers who were experts working at businesses in Khanh Hoa province. This was the first international flight since the fourth outbreak in late April 2021. The return flight brought 30 Korean citizens back to the country.
According to Ms. Le Thi Hong Minh, General Director of Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company (Cam Ranh International Airport), the flight was previously licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. This flight marks the restoration of international flights to Cam Ranh airport in the near future.
Previously, the Standing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee also agreed to pilot the return of tourists to this locality and assigned the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments to quickly develop a plan to welcome visitors according to safety criteria in epidemic prevention.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, the locality is expected to welcome visitors from October 15 according to a 3-phase roadmap. In phase one, the province prioritizes "Khanh Hoa people traveling to Khanh Hoa", focusing on stimulating tourism in areas where the epidemic has been controlled, encouraging businesses to open tours and routes in "green zones" to attract local people to go on vacation.
In the second phase, the tourism market will be expanded to neighboring provinces such as Lam Dong, Phu Yen, Dak Lak, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan... Other localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, the locality will calculate more carefully about the safety level because the Covid-19 epidemic is complicated in these two markets.
In the final stage, Khanh Hoa will organize to welcome international tourists to stay. Currently, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism has proposed to pilot welcoming international tourists to stay at 12 tourist facilities in the northern tourist area of Cam Ranh peninsula in December 2021.
