The flight from Incheon to Cam Ranh carried 37 passengers, all professionals working at businesses in Khanh Hoa province. This was the first international flight since the fourth wave of the pandemic began in late April 2021. The return flight brought 30 South Korean citizens back home.
According to Ms. Le Thi Hong Minh, General Director of Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company (Cam Ranh International Airport), the flight had been previously licensed by the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority. This flight marks the resumption of international flights to Cam Ranh airport in the near future.

Previously, the Standing Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee had also agreed to pilot the return of tourists to the locality and assigned the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments to quickly develop a plan to welcome tourists according to safety criteria in epidemic prevention and control.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Deputy Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, the province plans to welcome tourists from October 15th following a three-phase plan. In the first phase, the province prioritizes "Khanh Hoa residents traveling within Khanh Hoa," focusing on stimulating tourism in areas where the pandemic has been controlled, and encouraging businesses to open tours and routes in "green zones" to attract local residents for vacations.

In the second phase, the tourism market will be expanded to neighboring provinces such as Lam Dong, Phu Yen, Dak Lak, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan… Other localities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi will carefully consider the safety level because the Covid-19 situation is complex in these two markets.
In the final stage, Khanh Hoa will organize the welcoming of international tourists for vacation. Currently, the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism has proposed a pilot program to welcome international tourists to 12 tourist establishments in the northern Cam Ranh peninsula tourist area starting in December 2021.
