From 5:30 am, thousands of people of different ages from Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces gathered at the event area to warm up and get ready for the Resolution Run 2019. At exactly 7:10 am, more than 1,700 athletes started the 10 km run. Immediately after, at exactly 7:20 am, more than 1,300 athletes started the 5 km run. The excitement, determination, and dynamism of thousands of people in bright yellow shirts not only created a bustling atmosphere on the running track, but also helped those participating in the event to enjoy the joy of a highly community-oriented sports activity.

The support of local authorities, authorities, partners, especially the enthusiasm and excitement of thousands of participants has brought success to this program. Resolution Run 2019 has really raised the spirit of determination to change oneself to improve health, spirit and will of everyone. For that reason, it can be confidently assessed that Resolution Run 2019 has helped to start a new year full of energy.

The second time being held in Vietnam, Resolution Run has made many significant improvements to bring a more professional and well-received running race. With the distance of 5 km and 10 km, all participating athletes are fitted with a device (chip) to determine the time for their running route. Also within the framework of this race, the Organizing Committee has deducted 100,000,000 VND from the registration fee to give meaningful gifts to patients with diabetes through the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Supporting Poor Patients.

Along with Vietnam, Resolution Run 2019 took place almost simultaneously in other countries in the Asia region, where Sun Life is present. Besides Vietnam, other countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Hong Kong all organized the race to spread the message of "enjoying a healthier life", to encourage an active lifestyle in the community and together prevent diabetes effectively.
RESULTS OF THE TOURNAMENT:
With a distance of 5km, the first prize in the men's category belongs to athlete Nguyen Dang Khoa (SBD 50307) from Bau Phuong Club with a running time of 16 minutes and 14 seconds.
Meanwhile, in the women's category, first place went to athlete Watanabe Chiharu (SBD 50345) of Ho Chi Minh Running Club with a total running time of 18 minutes and 25 seconds.
First, second and third prizes for men's 5km.

In the 10km distance, first place in the men's category went to athlete Pham Ngoc Phan (SBD 10040) of Saigon Speedsters Club with a running time of 33 minutes and 44 seconds.
For the women's category, the first prize went to athlete Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong (SBD 10986) of Dong Nai Club with a running time of 43 minutes 34 seconds.
First and second prizes were awarded to female athletes in the 10 km race.
First, second and third prizes were awarded to male athletes participating in the 10 km distance.
