Tourists initially flocked to Ipanema, curious about a beautiful girl and the captivating Ipanema sea, which inspired two talented artists to compose wonderful melodies. Over time, the charm of the sea itself replaced the initial curiosity of many visitors.

Geographically, Ipanema is adjacent to Copacabana and Leblon beach, but this area is quite different from its two neighbors. This is due to the interconnected road network and relatively good tourist infrastructure, making it comfortable for any visitor, especially those visiting this new place for the first time.
Ipanema unfolds before visitors as a sun-drenched, breezy land with crystal-clear blue beaches. Famous for its passionate samba dances and radiant smiles, it's no surprise that visitors witness a vibrant and lively atmosphere unlike any other beach in the world. Besides its natural beauty, Ipanema also attracts tourists with its Hippie Market, also known as "Feira Hippie de Ipanema." This historic market, opened in 1968, boasts over 400 stalls. Initially a gathering place for hippies (free-spirited and eccentric people) to sing together, it gradually developed into a flea market selling a wide variety of goods such as food, handicrafts, clothing, and more. Tourists can visit here to find unique souvenirs at very reasonable prices, if not much cheaper than in other markets.
