Tam Thanh mural village is located about 7 km from Tam Ky city (Quang Nam), one side facing the sea and the other side facing the Truong Giang river.
Tam Thanh mural village has two sides bordering the river and the sea.
Last June, Tam Ky City Youth Union carried out a painting program with the theme "Sea Village Mural". The main content was about marine life, people, landscapes, and daily life of fishing village people.
The contest attracted many artists and volunteers to participate.
The contest quickly attracted a large number of members and young people with talent in the field of painting who are living and studying at the affiliated Youth Union and Young Pioneers' bases. The participants were divided into three groups: ward and commune groups, school groups, and club groups, and freelance artists.
Many households donated sections of their walls for painting.
When the contest was launched, many households in Hoa Trung village, Tam Thanh commune did not hesitate to donate their house walls to beautify Tam Thanh mural village.
After more than half a month, nearly 30 vivid paintings were completed. The painting process was partially supported by the Tam Ky City Youth Union to buy paint and drinking water.
Painter Pham Dinh Hai.
Artist Pham Dinh Hai is working on a 15 meter long, 5 meter wide painting on a local wall with the theme of Tam Thanh. The painting depicts the daily life of coastal people rowing bamboo boats to the sea to catch seafood.
The old walls are also decorated.
The walls of the houses, which were once covered with moss, are now painted in bright colors. The mural village has a high population density. The houses are close together, making it easy to create an impression and display vivid paintings.
Sea turtle painting.
Sea turtles - a rare animal painted on the wall to promote the protection of this creature. Recently, Tam Thanh people caught a number of sea turtles by netting and then handed them over to the authorities to release them back into the sea.
Nearly 30 more paintings were painted in the village.

Mr. Tran Khanh Binh, a villager of mural paintings, when he had the murals painted on his house wall, painted around the fence to beautify the village landscape. He shared: "Before the Covid-19 epidemic, the number of visitors to the village was crowded, but this period is less." He also said that now the village has more murals, so when the epidemic is over, all visitors will have a place to visit and take pictures.
The basket boat road.
In addition to mural paintings, visitors to Tam Thanh can also admire the basket boat road. In this village, dozens of basket boats are painted by artists and displayed along the roads and on the beaches.
The old murals in the village still attract tourists.
Since June 2016, the Korea Foundation has been implementing a Korean-Vietnamese community art exchange project in Tam Thanh commune with more than 100 paintings. The project has helped the pristine fishing village become the first mural village in Vietnam, welcoming thousands of visitors and creating more livelihoods for the people. Over the past five years, many mural painting programs have been carried out to beautify the village.
