With the theme "Da Lat and Flowers," the Da Lat Flower Festival 2019 was held at the end of December (December 20-24) in Da Lat city (Bao Loc, Lam Dong) and some other localities in the province.
This is the time of year when Da Lat, the city of flowers, enjoys the most beautiful weather. The festival is an opportunity for the city to showcase its local vegetables, flowers, and ornamental plants, as well as to honor flowers from many regions across the country and some other countries, aiming to attract tourists for sightseeing and relaxation, and to boost the city's economic growth.
This year, the festival includes 12 major programs such as the flower display at Xuan Huong Lake, artistic lighting routes, Vietnamese cultural and artistic exchanges, international flower and bonsai exhibitions… Notably, Miss World Vietnam 2019 Luong Thuy Linh will be the Ambassador for this year's flower festival.

Regarding the issue of "tourist touts," the Da Lat City People's Committee affirmed that it will handle the matter very decisively by installing many surveillance cameras. Upon detecting any incidents, the police will be handed over to the authorities for legal action. The People's Committee also hopes that tourists will record images and provide them to the relevant authorities.
In addition, although prices may be higher than usual during the flower festival, accommodation and other services such as food and beverage establishments must clearly display prices, register with the authorities, and inform visitors from the outset.

Meanwhile, representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province stated that the province has strengthened management, urban beautification, and the development of infrastructure and technical facilities for the tourism industry.
The organizers emphasized that negative issues such as touting, accommodation problems, traffic congestion, and hygiene and safety would receive special attention. To minimize traffic jams and parking congestion, the organizers have planned additional parking lots outside the city center, utilized parking spaces belonging to administrative agencies, and regulated traffic at bottleneck points.
Furthermore, since the beginning of the year, the city has worked with accommodation establishments to ensure that the needs of tourists are met and that there is no shortage of rooms. Two groups of young volunteers have also been assigned to Lam Vien Square and Xuan Huong Lake to assist visitors. If there are any issues regarding the quality of tourism, tourists can report them through the hotline or the "Da Lat Online" information receiving system.
Negative issues such as touting, accommodation problems, traffic congestion, and hygiene and safety will receive special attention.
The Da Lat Flower Festival 2019 is expected to attract approximately 300,000 visitors. After the festival concludes, the scenic displays will be preserved to serve visitors until January 1, 2020.
