The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the Reunification of the Country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), a momentous event taking place simultaneously in Ho Chi Minh City, the dynamic economic heart, and Hanoi, the political and cultural center of Vietnam with a thousand years of history, carries profound historical and political significance for the entire nation. This event has received special attention and close guidance from the Politburo and the Central Secretariat of the Party, demonstrating the immense scale and significance of the occasion.
Commemoration ceremony, parade, and march to mark the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country.
Accordingly, the national-level commemoration ceremony will be organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Ho Chi Minh City, taking place from 6:30 AM on April 30th along Le Duan Street, District 1, and other central streets of Ho Chi Minh City. The ceremony will include an artistic program, a flag-raising ceremony, speeches by Party and State leaders, speeches by representatives of veterans and the younger generation, a parade, a procession, and the release of balloons and doves. The program will be broadcast live on VTV1 of Vietnam Television and other television and radio stations in Ho Chi Minh City and other localities.
Military units are actively training in preparation for the parade on April 30, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City.
For the parade, the forces will start from the intersection of Le Duan and Nguyen Binh Khiem streets, moving past the main reviewing stand in front of the Reunification Hall. At the end of this route, the forces will split into four directions, moving towards the assembly point.
Specifically, for direction 1, after passing the Reunification Hall, the forces will move along the route Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Le Loi - Nguyen Thi Nghia - Phu Dong Thien Vuong Intersection - Cach Mang Thang 8. The forces in this direction will gather at Tao Dan Park.
Direction 2: After passing the Reunification Hall, forces move along Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Le Thanh Ton - Nguyen Hue - Me Linh Roundabout. Forces in this direction gather at Bach Dang Wharf. Direction 3: After passing the Reunification Hall, forces move along Le Duan - Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Nguyen Dinh Chieu - Dinh Tien Hoang. Forces in this direction gather at Hoa Lu Stadium. Direction 4: After passing the Reunification Hall, forces move along Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Hai Ba Trung. Forces in this direction gather at Le Van Tam Park.
Military parades and processions are not only commemorative activities but also carry profound significance in educating people about the tradition of "remembering the source when drinking water."

Ho Chi Minh City to hold fireworks display to celebrate April 30th.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a plan for organizing activities to commemorate the event. Ho Chi Minh City will hold fireworks displays at seven locations: the area at the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Duc City), the Ben Duoc Martyrs' Memorial (Cu Chi District); the Nga Ba Giong Martyrs' Memorial (Hoc Mon District), the Lang Le - Bau Co historical site (Binh Chanh District), the Can Gio District football stadium; the National Historical and Cultural Park, and the Dam Sen Cultural Park.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports has proposed fireworks displays every Saturday evening, from April 19th to May 31st, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Reunification of the country.
In addition to the seven main fireworks display locations mentioned above, the Ho Chi Minh City Command is encouraging districts, counties, and businesses in the city to participate in the social mobilization of local fireworks displays. Particularly, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports has proposed continuous fireworks displays every Saturday evening from April 19th to May 31st in the area near the Saigon River tunnel entrance in Thu Duc City.

From Bach Nam Hai's perspective, the photo series "ON THE SUMMIT OF CHANGE" possesses a unique spirit, aiming for a simple, unpretentious aesthetic, where visual effects are intentionally minimized, giving way to the profound celebration of ordinary life stories.
