European Film Festival in Vietnam 2020

The film festival is organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam with the support of the EU Public Access Project (EUPOP) and the participation of the Embassies of EU Member States and European Cultural Centres in Vietnam.

This is the 20th year the European Film Festival has been presented in Vietnam, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of EU-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

The organizers said that this year's festival takes place in a context where the world is turned upside down due to the sudden outbreak of Covid-19. Therefore, the message that the festival wants to send to the audience is that despite failures, loneliness, and loss, we still have to try, because we have love and aspiration for a brighter future.

The European Film Festival is organized to bring to Vietnamese audiences excellent films from Europe, the birthplace of the seventh art and the cradle of many prestigious international film festivals. The festival showcases Europe's rich cinematic heritage, diverse culture and contemporary creativity.

With 13 outstanding films selected from 14 European countries, many of which have won important domestic and international awards, it promises to let Vietnamese audiences feel the journeys of youth and maturity, of history and present life, of family values and complex egos in a crowded world, of conflicts and hopes.

The film festival will take place from November 20 to December 3 in Hanoi (National Cinema Center - 87 Lang Ha, Ba Dinh), Hue (Cinestar Cinema - 25 Hai Ba Trung, Vinh Ninh), Ho Chi Minh City (Cinestar Quoc Thanh Cinema - 271 Nguyen Trai, District 1) and for the first time in Can Tho (Lotte Ninh Kieu Cinema - 84 Mau Than, An Hoa, Ninh Kieu).
