Vietnam Airlines announced that it will adjust the schedules of six flights to and from Narita Airport (Tokyo) in the early morning of September 9th due to Typhoon Faxai making landfall in Japan.
Specifically, in the early morning of September 9th, the airline will delay departure times by 2 to over 3 hours for flights between Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Tokyo (Narita Airport), including VN310, VN311, VN318, VN319, VN300, and VN301.
This is the projected path of Typhoon Faxai, which had wind speeds of up to 144 km/h near its center.
Vietjet has also announced changes to the departure times of several flights. Specifically, flight VJ932 from Hanoi to Tokyo (Narita), originally scheduled to depart at 00:30 on September 9th, and flight VJ822 from Ho Chi Minh City to Tokyo (Narita), originally scheduled to depart at 00:05 on September 9th, will now depart at 00:30 and 03:05 respectively on the same day.
Other flights will be affected as a result. Passengers on flights affected by Typhoon Faxai will be assisted in accordance with established policies.
Airlines assure passengers that they have been informed at airports and through various communication channels, including phone calls and SMS messages, and recommend that passengers regularly check their websites for flight updates to proactively adjust their travel plans.
