Many flights to Japan delayed due to typhoon Faxai

Typhoon Faxai, bringing heavy rain and strong winds, swept through Tokyo (Japan) since the night of September 7 and the rainfall is expected to reach 300 mm in the next 24 hours. Japanese authorities on September 8 canceled and delayed many flights and railway services in Tokyo as Typhoon Faxai began to make landfall in the country. Vietnamese airlines have also announced changes in departure times for some flights to Japan.

Vietnam Airlines said it will adjust the schedule of six flights to and from Narita Airport (Tokyo) in the early morning of September 9 due to Typhoon Faxai making landfall in Japan.

Specifically, in the early morning of September 9, the airline will delay departure times from 2 to more than 3 hours for flights between Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Tokyo (Narita airport), including VN310, VN311, VN318, VN319, VN300, VN301.

Vietjet has also announced changes to the departure times of many flights. In particular, flight VJ932 from Hanoi to Tokyo (Narita) scheduled to depart at 0:30 on September 9, flight VJ822 from Ho Chi Minh City to Tokyo (Narita) scheduled to depart at 0:05 on September 9 will change to the new departure times of 3:30 and 3:05 on the same day, respectively.

Some other flights will be affected by the chain reaction. Passengers on flights affected by Typhoon Faxai will be supported according to the prescribed policy.

Airlines have ensured that they have informed passengers at airports and through many communication channels, by phone, SMS, and have recommended that passengers regularly update flight information on their websites to proactively adjust their travel schedules.
