Aviation and railway industries increase flights on the occasion of April 30 - May 1

After the tourism opening on March 15, domestic airlines and railways are recording an increase in the number of passengers buying tickets to tourist destinations. In preparation for the upcoming holidays, thousands of flights and trains have been added to serve passengers.

Aviation industry

Vietnam Airlines Group (including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO) announced that it will provide a total of nearly 450,000 seats, equivalent to nearly 4,000 flights on domestic and international routes from April 28 to May 4. Of which, Vietnam Airlines and VASCO will operate over 2,000 flights with nearly 395,000 seats, while Pacific Airlines will provide more than 270 flights, equivalent to nearly 51,000 seats.

Vietnam Airlines focuses on increasing domestic flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with famous tourist destinations such as Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Con Dao... For international flights, the airline increases the frequency of operations across its existing network, adding new routes such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to New Delhi (India); Singapore to Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc from April 15.

For Bamboo Airways, the airline plans to increase the maximum flight frequency on key routes such as Hanoi - Da Nang, Hanoi - Quy Nhon, Hanoi - Cam Ranh and Hanoi - Phu Quoc. In addition, the flight network to many countries will also be strengthened. In addition to operating routes connecting to Japan, Taiwan (China), Korea, Australia, Germany, and the UK; Bamboo Airways has opened sales and is expected to put into operation the Ho Chi Minh City - Singapore route from April 29, Hanoi - Singapore from May 4, Ho Chi Minh City - Bangkok from April 28.

Railway industry

Along with flights, a series of train routes are also being operated by Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) to many localities during the April 30 - May 1 holiday.

Specifically, in the North, in addition to the daily North-South passenger train pairs SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8; there will be 30 more trains from Hanoi to Lao Cai, Hai Phong and vice versa. Of which, the Hanoi - Lao Cai route will have the SP3 train at Hanoi station on April 29 and 30, the SP4 train at Lao Cai station on May 2 and 3; the Hanoi - Thanh Hoa route will have the TH1/TH2 train pair added; the Hanoi - Hai Phong route will have 4 regular train pairs from April 22 to May 4.

In the Central region, there are 6 more train pairs from Hanoi to Vinh; the Hanoi - Dong Hoi route has additional trains QB1/QB2, QB3/QB4; the Hanoi - Hue route has trains SE17/SE18, and the Hanoi - Da Nang route has trains SE19/SE20.

In the Southern region, the units organized to run 17 more trains with the train codes from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Da Nang and vice versa. Of which, trains SNT2 and SNT4 from Saigon station to Nha Trang station run on April 28-30 and May 1-2.

In addition, during the peak period of April 30 - May 1, the railway industry still maintains the policy of reducing round-trip ticket prices by 5-10% and discounts for social policy beneficiaries.

VNR also recommends that passengers buy tickets at stations, on websites (dsvn.vn, vetauonline.vn, ViettelPay, VnPay) or at train ticket agents nationwide.
