Airlines and railways will increase flights during the April 30th - May 1st holiday.

Following the reopening of tourism on March 15th, domestic airlines and railway lines are reporting a surge in passenger bookings to tourist destinations. In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, thousands of additional flights and train services have been added to accommodate passengers.

Aviation industry

Vietnam Airlines Group (comprising Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and VASCO) announced that it will provide a total of nearly 450,000 seats, corresponding to nearly 4,000 flights on domestic and international routes from April 28 to May 4. Of these, Vietnam Airlines and VASCO will operate over 2,000 flights with nearly 395,000 seats, while Pacific Airlines will provide more than 270 flights, corresponding to nearly 51,000 seats.

Vietnam Airlines is focusing on increasing domestic flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and popular tourist destinations such as Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Con Dao... For international routes, the airline is increasing the frequency of flights across its entire existing network and adding new routes such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to New Delhi (India); and Singapore to Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc starting from April 15th.

For Bamboo Airways, the airline plans to increase the maximum flight frequency on key routes such as Hanoi - Da Nang, Hanoi - Quy Nhon, Hanoi - Cam Ranh, and Hanoi - Phu Quoc. In addition, the flight network to many countries will also be strengthened. Besides operating routes connecting with Japan, Taiwan (China), South Korea, Australia, Germany, and the UK, Bamboo Airways has started selling tickets and plans to launch the Ho Chi Minh City - Singapore route from April 29th, Hanoi - Singapore from May 4th, and Ho Chi Minh City - Bangkok from April 28th.

Railway industry

In parallel with the flights, the Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) is also increasing the number of train services to many localities during the April 30th - May 1st holiday.

Specifically, in the North, in addition to the daily North-South passenger trains SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8, there will be 30 additional trains from Hanoi to Lao Cai, Hai Phong and vice versa. Of these, the Hanoi - Lao Cai route will have an additional SP3 train departing from Hanoi station on April 29th and 30th, and the SP4 train departing from Lao Cai station on May 2nd and 3rd; the Hanoi - Thanh Hoa route will have an additional TH1/TH2 train pair; and the Hanoi - Hai Phong route will have 4 regular train pairs running from April 22nd to May 4th.

In Central Vietnam, there are 6 additional pairs of trains between Hanoi and Vinh; the Hanoi-Dong Hoi route has additional trains QB1/QB2 and QB3/QB4; the Hanoi-Hue route has trains SE17/SE18, and the Hanoi-Da Nang route has trains SE19/SE20.

In the southern region, the operating units are running an additional 17 trains with routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Da Nang and vice versa. Specifically, trains SNT2 and SNT4 from Saigon Station to Nha Trang Station will run on April 28-30 and May 1-2.

In addition, during the peak period of April 30th - May 1st, the railway industry continues to maintain its policy of reducing round-trip fares by 5-10% and offering discounts for those receiving social welfare benefits.

VNR also advises passengers to purchase tickets at the station, on websites (dsvn.vn, vetauonline.vn, ViettelPay, VnPay) or train ticket agents nationwide.
