On March 27th, the Da Nang Maritime Authority announced its approval for Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company to use the Trung Trac vessel for fixed passenger transport on the waterway route from Da Nang to Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai). According to the plan, Phu Quoc Express will launch the Da Nang - Ly Son waterway passenger transport route on March 29th, 2022.
According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, this new tourist route serves visitors along the route from Han River port to Ly Son port, with a journey time of 3 hours, departing from Monday to Friday every week.
The vessels used on this route are modern, European-standard catamarans with a capacity of up to 600 passengers. (Image: Internet)
The launch of the Da Nang - Ly Son inland waterway route, spanning 70 nautical miles, significantly shortens travel time and distance compared to traveling by road to Quang Ngai City and then by boat to Ly Son. It also facilitates tourists visiting Da Nang to combine sightseeing with experiencing Ly Son Island and returning on the same day.
According to Mr. Dang Tan Thanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son Island District, the locality has high expectations that the new sea route will attract many tourists and boost trade in agricultural products and seafood; bringing opportunities for economic and tourism development to the island district.
