Budget estimate
If you plan ahead, you can book round-trip flights from Vietnam to the Maldives for around US$400 (8 million VND) per person. The most popular route involves a transit stop in Bangkok (Thailand). Two popular airlines are Air Asia and Sri Lanka Airlines.
Regarding accommodation, if you can afford around $100-$150 USD (2-3 million VND) per night, you should look for 3-star resorts, $150-$300 USD (3-6 million VND) for 4-star resorts, and more for 5-star establishments. You can book rooms at cheaper prices during the off-season, from April to September each year. Conversely, during peak season, room prices can increase two to three times, and during holidays, the Maldives is usually fully booked.

At resorts, the most popular type of accommodation for honeymoons is the beach villa, just steps away from the beach and overlooking the sea. This is a good option, but not perfect. If the resort you plan to book has overwater villas available, you should try them to see how different they are from the rooms you've stayed in before.

You'll find that bungalows situated right on the water offer the absolute romance needed for a honeymoon, especially if they have a ladder leading directly down to the sea. The earlier you book, the greater your chances of getting a good price.

Through online images, you can get a general idea of the resort you're planning to book, checking for beautiful beaches, clean water, nearby coral reefs, and even nearby islands. More importantly, choose resorts near sandy beaches. Continue searching for images each week until you feel this is the island you want to visit. Most importantly, look for photos from previous travelers, rather than just those from hotel owners.
Eat and drink
The culinary culture isn't a strong point here. Most dishes are heavily influenced by Indian cuisine, which might not suit everyone's taste, and most are included in the resort's package. However, the seafood, especially the octopus, is definitely worth trying. Besides that, enjoying fish and chips while sunbathing on the beach is a wonderful experience.

You might think there aren't many fun activities on a small island. But the truth is, all the resorts are designed with plenty of opportunities for exploration. If you're in the Maldives, don't miss the diving or snorkeling to discover the rich marine life.
A game of hide-and-seek on the sand with champagne and slices of cheese is a romantic and peaceful way to forget all your worries and sorrows. You could also try other activities like night fishing, something you've never done before, or relax at a spa at least once during your time in the Maldives.
