25/07/2016

The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy (MBDA) will return to Southern Vietnam from July 21-25, 2016 at HappyLand racetrack, Long An. With nearly 30 test drive vehicles and on-road and off-road exercises, MBDA 2016 promises to deliver exciting experiences for drivers.

Diverse products and terrains

As an annual event of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam, MBDA has become familiar to many domestic customers after more than 12 years of organization. MBDA is not only a place for drivers to improve their safe driving skills, but also an opportunity for customers to test drive new products and seek exciting experiences through various exercises.

To meet the diverse experiential needs of customers, MBV will design the content of MBDA 2016 for both on-road and off-road terrain, with a fleet of up to 30 test drive and display vehicles. Besides sedan models from the A-Class to the S-Class, MBDA 2016 will also showcase popular SUVs such as the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 AMG, GLC 250 4MATIC, GLC 300 4MATIC, and GLE 400 4MATIC. This product and terrain diversity will also allow customers to easily experience the effectiveness of technologies like DYNAMIC SELECT, 4MATIC, and 9G-TRONIC.

Beyond focusing on the drivers, MBDA also organized many exciting activities for the whole family, such as a children's play area, a free ice cream freezer, and a simulated camping area with a V 220 d family car and Mercedes-Benz bicycles. Notably, the top 10 drivers of MBDA 2016 will be sponsored by MBV to participate in the global Mercedes-AMG Driving Performance training course in 2017.

Applying safety technology to the racetrack.

The racetrack is where a car's performance is pushed to its absolute limit. Drivers will clearly see the value of Mercedes-Benz's safety features, as their instantaneous intervention minimizes and limits dangerous situations. Through simulation exercises designed by experienced professional racing coaches, drivers will experience Mercedes-Benz's safety technologies on the racetrack and then apply them to real-world traffic situations.

The main topics covered in the course include: 1. Sudden braking and steering at high speeds (Experiencing the ABS/BAS system); 2. Lane changing skills on slippery surfaces (Experiencing the ESP & Pre-Safe system); 3. Introduction to the Collision Prevention Assist Plus (CPA Plus) system with automatic deceleration assistance function.

Mr. Choi Duk Jun, Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars Vietnam, shared: “The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy will train drivers with the necessary skills and reflexes in dangerous situations that they rarely experience in real life.”

In addition, drivers will hone their high-speed cornering skills on Mercedes-AMG vehicles under the guidance of professional racing instructors. The most skilled drivers will be selected to participate in timed races on the Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC and Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC models. Not only useful in off-road training, the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system also increases traction on the racetrack, distributing power efficiently without adding as much weight as other four-wheel drive systems.

Lasting more than a day longer than in previous years, MBDA 2016 is expected to train and certify over 600 guests in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding provinces.

Safety is the top priority.

Mercedes-Benz is a pioneer in organizing safe driving training academies in Vietnam, bringing these academies to all three regions of the country across various terrains. Over 12 years of development in Vietnam, the Mercedes-Benz Safe Driving Academy has trained and certified over 4,000 customers nationwide. Under the supervision of international sports car experts and utilizing the safety technologies integrated into Mercedes-Benz vehicles, all of these customers have completed the course safely and without any unfortunate incidents.
