On October 30th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and Ben Tre province held a tourism cooperation conference to develop a plan for receiving inter-provincial tourists. The two localities agreed on safety criteria for tourism, procedures for receiving tourists, and traffic flow for tourism businesses and visitors. They will publish complete information and widely disseminate it to tourists as soon as possible.
The tourism departments of the two localities, in coordination with the Department of Transport, are surveying, evaluating, and developing a waterway tourism route. Initially, this will be the Can Gio - Ben Tre route with the theme "A Symphony of Natural Colors," lasting 3 days and 2 nights.
Ben Tre is a locality with potential and strengths in developing tourism associated with culture and history, ecotourism, community tourism, and traditional craft villages linked to characteristic products from coconut trees.

From Ho Chi Minh City, it takes tourists 1.5-2 hours to reach the land of coconuts. In 2019, Ben Tre was the second-highest destination for international tourists, accounting for 40% of international visitors and 11% of domestic tourists in the Eastern Mekong Delta region.
In addition, inter-provincial and inter-regional tourism products are being developed, along with programs connecting the Southeast region - Ho Chi Minh City - Ben Tre, in order to diversify products and stimulate the demand for travel and entertainment among tourists after a long period of social distancing.

Besides Ben Tre, Long An has also restarted tourism activities with inter-provincial tours to Ho Chi Minh City in November. Currently, tourists from Ho Chi Minh City can take 3-day/2-night tours to Long An, 2-day/1-night tours, or day trips. Destinations include eco-tourism areas in Ho Chi Minh City and Long An such as: Green Farm, Cu Chi Tunnels, Endless Fields Tourist Area, pristine Melaleuca forest, medicinal herb growing areas; and experience "forest bathing" therapy...
