Another season of reeds has arrived at the foot of Long Bien Bridge.

During the cool, transitional season, the fertile alluvial plain at the foot of Long Bien Bridge and the sandbar in the middle of the Red River dons the graceful beauty of blooming reeds. Located less than 2 km from the center of Hanoi, this place is attracting photographers and lovers of romance.

Hanoi this season is not lacking in reed fields, but perhaps the most vast is the reed field located right at the foot of Long Bien Bridge. The reed field is situated in Bai Giua – the name given to the alluvial strip of land that emerges in the middle of the Red River, below Chuong Duong and Long Bien bridges. During this time, all the reeds, taller than a person, bloom simultaneously, creating an incredibly poetic scene. The reeds stretch as far as the eye can see, covering the entire fertile alluvial land. And thanks to this, the image of Long Bien and Chuong Duong bridges becomes even more poetic.

"People can go down to the reed field to take pictures, but for me, just admiring the reeds from the bridge is more than enough. Looking down from above and seeing the reeds stretching as far as the eye can see is much more satisfying," shared Vu My Linh, a Food & Travel Blogger. "The clusters of reeds swaying in the early winter breeze are so poetic, so romantic."

The reed blooming season is short and usually at its most beautiful around the end of October and the beginning of November. When they first bloom, the pristine white reeds are eye-catching, and as the flowers mature, they gradually turn a deep yellow. These reeds evoke a rustic, countryside feel, covering the alluvial plains along the riverbanks in white and becoming a "masterpiece" of nature.

During the transitional season, under the cool Hanoi weather, standing on the historic Long Bien Bridge and gazing out at the fields of reeds, it seems as if all worries and anxieties vanish. Hanoi, seen from that angle, is no longer bustling, no longer burdened with worries; only poetic and romantic beauty remains, leaving those who live there longing for it and those far away yearning for it.

Since this reed field is located right at the foot of Long Bien Bridge, to take photos you can go down from the Long Bien Market side. However, you should be careful because the path down is quite difficult and there may be many mosquitoes. Also, please pay attention to parking regulations on Long Bien Bridge.
