The Nomad, whose real name is Phan Quoc, was born in 1992 in Quang Ngai and has been making YouTube videos for three years. He shared this with reporters.TravelliveHe said he gave up his lucrative career as a programmer to officially join the vibrant and competitive YouTube community. After three years of traveling and exploring different places, he was most impressed with Egypt.
The Nomad's terrifying experiences during his visit to Egypt.
When mentioning Egypt, besides the magnificent pyramids, there are many mysteries and outstanding cultural and historical stories for tourists to discover. It is for this reason that Phan Quoc decided to choose Egypt as his destination to explore and create unique videos.

“Egypt is my favorite place. Egypt has the magnificent pyramids, a classic testament to a distant civilization. When I go to Egypt, I feel like I've stepped back in time. It's a vast land with so much to explore. Reaching it feels like I've conquered a life goal. The services are also well-developed, like horseback riding and camel riding, which excites me,” Phan Quoc shared.
Besides beautiful memories, Egypt also harbors many dangers. Phan Quoc confided: “The problem of scams in Egypt is well-known. During my many days of traveling in Egypt, I encountered many scammers and experienced many such incidents. At the Valley of the Kings (a tourist destination in Egypt), I met someone who treated me well and was always enthusiastic. Because of this, I generously offered to treat him to a lavish dinner, only to discover at the last minute that he had scammed me. After that, I realized he had approached me from the beginning to gain my trust and had a very elaborate scam plan from the start.”
Phan Quoc even considered contacting the local police for help, but then cleverly resolved the situation himself: "He planned with a restaurant to inflate the price fourfold. Although forced to pay, he estimated the price and agreed to pay the correct amount, so they couldn't do anything to him."

Despite some unpleasant experiences along the way, Phan Quoc remains enthusiastic about this special place. He shared:
"The reason I love Egypt is because it's special; each place is unique. I especially enjoyed Cairo and the Luxor Valley of the Kings. The tranquil Alexandria Sea and the breathtaking Red Sea also left a deep impression on me."
Sharing more about living conditions here, he said: "The cost of living in Egypt isn't too high, and there aren't many luxurious places, but tourist attractions are more expensive. Egyptian food isn't too difficult for me to eat; it's edible, but I don't particularly enjoy it."
Phan Quoc's long trip to Egypt might seem expensive at first glance without careful planning and budgeting. The YouTuber from Quang Ngai shared that the one-way airfare from Dubai to Egypt, with a layover in Ethiopia, alone cost around 10 million VND. If you're planning a trip to Egypt from Vietnam, research the options and try to estimate your budget accordingly.

A YouTuber with a dream of traveling around the world.
"Before, when I was a programmer, I delivered practical products with concrete value. But now, with YouTube, I want to convey a spiritual value, inspire, and provide direction, goals, and motivation for young people," Phan Quoc emphasized.
One unique aspect of the "Nomad" YouTube channel is that it's completely unscripted. Phan Quoc simply records his own experiences, filming wherever he goes, so the videos, filmed midway, almost never seem to have an ending.

However, the content creation process wasn't all rosy. Phan Quoc also faced personal challenges. The first stemmed from his own approach to content creation: "I think a lot when creating content related to the politics, religion, and culture of a place I want to document. I worry about whether it's safe, accurate, and whether it will negatively impact that country."
Sharing more details with Travellive reporters, Phan Quoc revealed some hilarious and frustrating situations he encountered while on assignment. Because he prioritizes personal experiences over creating compelling content, Phan Quoc travels alone. This has caused him numerous inconveniences during video filming.
With a load of 5-6 cameras, each heavy, Phan Quoc said he struggled to manage and carry them throughout the journey: "Only those in the profession can understand this; outsiders can't. Sometimes you want to position three cameras, but you only have two hands. Even charging the batteries is a problem because you have to carry bulky power adapters. I also have to schedule battery charging in advance so that none of the cameras run out of battery in the middle of filming."

He also added: "It's very difficult right now, but I can only get used to it; there's no permanent solution. On the nights I sleep at the airport, it's very hard to keep all my luggage and expensive personal belongings safe."
This is clearly one of the difficulties that cannot be overlooked, as it directly affects content creators. The owner of the YouTube channel "The Nomad" said that sometimes he feels tired and his health is significantly affected by having to constantly travel with a huge amount of luggage.
However, when the reporter suggested he consider hiring an assistant to make the journey smoother, he frankly shared: "I travel around the world to experience things, and it's my job. I explore this world, and YouTube is just for sharing the most authentic moments, not my top priority, so I don't want a team. Having an assistant would make the trip less private, enjoyable, and comfortable." This shows the immense passion for travel of this young man born in 1992.

He also jokingly shared, "If I had a girlfriend, she would be my assistant."
Phan Quoc emphasized that he has only been focusing more on his YouTube channel, "The Nomad," for about three months now. He dreams of traveling around the world and hopes to release more videos then to convey his messages to his audience.
He also shared what he appreciated most during his travels: "I want to share with everyone the importance of respecting the culture, politics, and religion of the places you visit because you are just a tourist. This ensures your own safety; in less modern places, no one can guarantee your safety, so show respect for the places you visit."
