Vietnam has been honored as “Asia’s Best River Cruise Destination 2021”.

Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam's tourism sector was recognized in over 30 categories at the 28th World Travel Awards for the Asia Pacific region this year. Most recently, the World Cruise Awards once again honored Vietnam as the "Best River Cruise Destination in Asia 2021".

After a year of searching for outstanding names in the cruise industry around the world, the World Cruise Awards have finally announced the deserving winners for 2021. The voting was conducted by reputable cruise industry experts and the public, with each award given to the nominee with the highest number of votes in their respective category.

Winning the award for “Best River Cruise Destination in Asia 2021,” Vietnam beat out nominees including Cambodia, China, Laos, and Thailand.

In October, the World Travel Awards also presented Vietnam with two prestigious awards: "Asia's Leading Destination" and "Asia's Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination 2021". At the World Golf Awards ceremony, Vietnam also received the award for "World's Best Golf Destination 2021". Notably, this is the second time since 2017 that the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has been honored by the World Travel Awards as Asia's Leading Tourism Management Agency in 2021.

This year, winning the World Travel Awards – considered the Oscars of the travel industry – is more important than ever, as global tourism is gradually reviving after the pandemic and borders are reopening.
