Thu Quynh is a freelancer in Ba Vi, Hanoi. Quynh works freelance and can arrange her work online so she can travel for long periods and live with the locals. Thu Quynh planned to go to Da Lat in November-December, when the weather is pleasant and there are many types of flowers blooming. However, she decided to go right when the rainy season in Da Lat begins. "If I keep hesitating, when will I want to go? I can come back to Da Lat at other times," Thu Quynh shared.
Before leaving, Thu Quynh had planned her expenses in detail. Therefore, staying in Da Lat for a month, she did not spend too much money but still enjoyed the comfort here. Regarding costs, Thu Quynh said that prices in Da Lat are not different from Hanoi and Bac Ninh, where she used to live.

Thu Quynh found a place to rent a room by the month. She only spent about 2.5 million VND/month to rent a nice room, located near the center. For transportation, Quynh rented a motorbike for 100k/day or 1.5 million VND/month. Admitting that she is not a foodie, Quynh ordered an app, asked friends to take her, or stopped by places that locals frequented. For her, the cost for this was not too expensive.
"There is something very chill about Dalat in the rainy season compared to other places, gentle and peaceful. I feel like I am 100% immersed in nature," Thu Quynh told Travellive.
Thu Quynh met many friends and new relationships on the trip.

In Thu Quynh's view, the rains cover the mountain town with a romantic curtain of water. However, she thinks that people should be careful when traveling in the current weather. Da Lat has many short and steep roads, some of which are steep and slippery, making it dangerous for tourists. Tourist destinations are often far from the center, some of which have bad roads or landslides. Tourists should plan and choose a destination that suits the weather of the day.
"The experience of living here for a month gave me more than I thought. I made new friends and saw wonderful sceneries. I met more people and listened to more stories that made me love life and appreciate what I have," Thu Quynh answered when asked what she gained from choosing to go to Da Lat during the rainy season.

This trip to Da Lat in the rain was like a workation for Thu Quynh. She divided and arranged her work so that she could experience as much as possible and still meet her deadline. Thu Quynh usually works in the morning and noon, and the afternoon is her time to go out and relax. On days when she plans to go out or spend a whole day or a session going out, Thu Quynh will arrange her work the night before.

"If I return to Da Lat, I will come back during the flower seasons: cherry blossoms, white bauhinia flowers, or purple royal poinciana flowers. I have heard about it and seen many pictures, but I have not yet had the chance to admire this scene," Thu Quynh said.
