If this is the first time coming to Mu Cang Chai, many tourists will be surprised by the scenery here which is even more beautiful than the pictures describing this land. Along the winding roads running through the communes of La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha... are hills and mountains covered with "Each step up and down like a long melody” (Lyrics of the song “Love Poem of the Mountain”, author An Thuyen). Almost no tourist comes to Mu Cang Chai and misses the unique images here.

On the way, visitors can see wooden houses with clusters of golden corn hanging around the house, children playing on the roadside, shy when asked by people or suddenly meet Mong women embroidering dresses in the golden autumn sun like honey. Any tourist who is lucky enough to live with a Mong family, have a meal in a cozy wooden house; learn about the process of exploiting terraced fields, climb the stairs leading to the sky with the people... this can be considered a rare opportunity to admire and appreciate.the courage and determination of the Mong people in a land of countless hardships.

In September and October, when coming to Mu Cang Chai, visitors also have the opportunity to see the hills of red apples with a distinctive aroma. Yen Bai's apples are mainly concentrated in Mu Cang Chai with a pink apple variety that cannot be found anywhere else. In recent years, apples have contributed significantly to improving the lives of many households in many communes of Mu Cang Chai.

In particular, although Mu Cang Chai has 91% of Mong ethnic people, tourists can still enjoy traditional herbal bath services, rest in the stilt houses of Thai ethnic people when needed. And after a long day of exploring, in the chill of autumn, enjoying white rice, boiled chayote, black chicken with a little fragrant apple wine... the feeling of floating and relaxation will remind tourists forever of a land in the Northwest of the country.
