To meet the needs of tourists during the upcoming holiday season, the transportation sector has planned to increase the number of trips, and the tourism industry is preparing facilities and diverse, attractive tour products. Local authorities are also stepping up measures to ensure safety, avoid overcrowding, and comply with COVID-19 prevention and control requirements.

Cars, trains, and airplanes are all increasing their services.

Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company announced plans to increase the number of bus trips by 626 at Giap Bat, My Dinh, and Gia Lam bus stations. Some routes expected to see a significant increase in passenger numbers include Ha Giang, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, and Ninh Binh…

Vietnam Railways Corporation is increasing the number of trains operated by 52 on various routes. The Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route will have an additional SE11/SE12 train pair. In the North, an additional 22 trains will operate on routes such as Hanoi - Thanh Hoa; Hanoi - Vinh; Hanoi - Dong Hoi… and vice versa. In the South, an additional 28 trains will operate from Saigon to provinces such as Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Dieu Tri, Quy Nhon… and vice versa.

In the aviation sector, many domestic routes have already sold out for the holiday period, such as Hanoi to Hue, Ho Chi Minh City to Tuy Hoa (Phu Yen), and Hanoi to Dong Hoi (Quang Binh). The Civil Aviation Authority is considering granting permission to airlines to operate additional flights to meet passenger demand.

To ensure traffic safety during the holiday season, the Ministry of Transport has instructed the Department of Roads to guide localities in directing transport businesses to publicly disclose transport fares and service fees. Transport companies must comply with regulations regarding passenger capacity, load limits, and service quality, while also implementing COVID-19 prevention and control measures. Inspection forces will strictly address the issue of illegal taxis and unauthorized bus stops.

According to Hoang Van Minh, Director of the Royal Hotel (Dong Hoi, Quang Binh), this year's holiday season saw most tourists traveling in groups through travel agencies, in addition to a large number of bookings made through online platforms. Currently, the Royal Hotel has reached 80% occupancy, and is confident of reaching 100% occupancy during the holiday period.

According to Nguyen Ngoc Quy, Director of the Quang Binh Department of Tourism, hotels and guesthouses in the province are fully booked. Most are domestic tourists from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and some Northwestern provinces. During the holiday, the province will have many unique and attractive activities such as the traditional boat racing festival on the Nhat Le River (Dong Hoi City) and the Son River (Bo Trach District); the Dong Hoi City Culture and Tourism Week, etc. To ensure the safety of tourists, the local authorities will strengthen measures to prevent overcrowding.

During this year's holiday season, Da Nang is expected to receive 65-70 direct flights from abroad each day, matching the peak level of 2019. The number of domestic flights to Da Nang during the holiday is also very high, around 70-75 flights per day.

According to Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, tourism service businesses have prepared infrastructure, services, and personnel to serve tourists during the peak season. The association is also working with and urging businesses not to increase service prices and to keep prices stable.

In addition, the city will organize many cultural and recreational activities to serve the needs of residents and tourists, such as: a program commemorating the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day on April 30th and International Labor Day on May 1st (held on April 28th); a mobile art exhibition with the theme "Sketches of the Battlefield" (from April 27th to May 5th); and a program to introduce and promote Da Nang's characteristic OCOP products. Furthermore, tourism stimulus programs will be announced, promising even more products and incentives for tourists this summer.

Similarly, the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, in coordination with local authorities and tourist areas and attractions, has carefully prepared plans for coordinating tourists, ensuring safety and quality, conducting inspections and directing tourism businesses to ensure fair prices and quality, and preventing price gouging. Surveys show that tourist areas and attractions in Ninh Binh all ensure adequate infrastructure, environmental sanitation, fire safety, security, and food safety. Travel companies, star-rated accommodations, and large restaurants have all committed to not increasing prices during the April 30th holiday and to publicly display their prices.

With the number of Covid-19 cases trending upwards, localities are prioritizing disease prevention and control measures to ensure tourists have a safe and secure holiday.
