How does the White House celebrate Christmas?

24/12/2018

Christmas Eve 2018 is near and all over the world have finished decorating, ready to welcome the Holy Night. The same goes for the White House. This is the second Christmas of President Donald J. Trump's family here. Let's take a tour around the White House and discover how the White House celebrates Christmas?

This year’s White House Christmas decoration theme is “American Treasures,” honoring the unique heritage of the United States. Continuing the tradition of previous years, 105 ivy wreaths are hung in each window. In addition, 40 string-of-pearl trees line the East Hallway of the White House. The house is a symbol of the wonderful things found across this country.

The stunning White House was decorated by First Lady Melania Trump and was created by 225 volunteers from all 50 states. Melania Trump said: “This is a happy time of year when we come together to decorate the White House for Christmas. Our theme celebrates the heart and spirit of the American people. Thank you to the many volunteers and staff who have worked so hard to decorate the house for Christmas. On behalf of my family, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
