The Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police has issued a notice regarding traffic diversion and route organization for vehicles during the "Cultural Festival for Peace" commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), including many routes where vehicles will be completely prohibited.
Specifically, from 2 PM on October 4, 2024 to midnight on October 6, 2024, vehicles (except those with security badges and vehicles serving the festival) are prohibited from circulating on the following roads: Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Lai (section from Ly Thai To to Dinh Tien Hoang), Le Thach, Dinh Le, Nguyen Xi, Trang Tien (section from Ngo Quyen to Dinh Tien Hoang), Hang Khay, Le Thai To, Hang Dau (section from the intersection of Lo Su - Hang Dau to Dinh Tien Hoang), Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square area, Tran Nguyen Han (section from Ly Thai To to Dinh Tien Hoang), Luong Van Can (section from Hang Hanh alley to Le Thai To), Bao Khanh (section from Bao Khanh alley to Le Thai To), Hang Bai (section from Hai Ba Trung to Trang Tien).
Many roads in the capital will be closed to traffic for 3 days.
Additionally, the following routes will be temporarily closed and restricted for vehicles: from 13:00 to 24:00 on October 4, 2024, and from 5:00 to 24:00 on October 5 and 6, 2024, cargo vehicles carrying goods weighing 500 kg or more, and passenger vehicles with 29 seats or more (except emergency vehicles and vehicles with security badges) will be temporarily prohibited. Restrictions will also be placed on private cars on the following routes: Ngo Quyen, Ly Thai To, Tran Nguyen Han, Nguyen Huu Huan, Le Lai (section from Ly Thai To to Tran Quang Khai), Ba Trieu (from Hang Khay to Tran Hung Dao), Hang Bai (section from Hai Ba Trung to Ham Long), Ly Thuong Kiet, Tran Hung Dao, Hai Ba Trung, Le Thanh Tong, Phan Chu Trinh, Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, and Pho Hue.
The Hanoi People's Committee organized the "Cultural Festival for Peace" to commemorate the 25th anniversary of UNESCO awarding the title "City for Peace".
During the period of the ban or temporary ban, vehicles from eastern and northeastern districts such as Gia Lam and Long Bien, and western and northwestern districts such as Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, Cau Giay, Hoai Duc, and Dan Phuong can pass through Nhat Tan, Long Bien, Vinh Tuy, Thanh Tri bridges, dike 401, Tran Nhat Duat, Yen Phu, Thanh Nien, Vo Chi Cong bridges, and Ring Road 3, and vice versa.
Vehicles traveling from the north, such as Tay Ho, Dong Anh, and Soc Son, to the south, such as Hoang Mai and Thanh Tri, pass through Thang Long Bridge, Nhat Tan Bridge, Vo Chi Cong Street, Pham Van Dong Street, Pham Hung Street, Ring Road 2, Ring Road 3, and vice versa.
During this period, parking on the streets will be temporarily suspended to facilitate the management and arrangement of vehicles for the event.
For other routes and vehicles, compliance with regulations on traffic operation in Hanoi City issued under Decision No. 06/2013/QD-UBND dated January 25, 2013 of the Hanoi City People's Committee (amended and supplemented by Decision No. 24/2020/QD-UBND dated October 2, 2020 of the Hanoi City People's Committee) and other amending documents of competent authorities is required.
At the same time, parking on the streets mentioned in item 1 will be temporarily suspended to facilitate the management and arrangement of vehicles for the Festival. Traffic participants are requested to comply with the Road Traffic Law and the traffic diversion instructions of the authorities.
