PageNextsharkThey've just revealed some secrets about flights from airlines around the world that not everyone knows. This information was disclosed by flight attendants and pilots:
1. Oxygen masks only provide passengers with oxygen for about 15 minutes. But that's enough time for the pilots to bring you down to a safer altitude where you can breathe normally.
"More importantly, you must put on your own mask first, then put one on the child. We must ensure our own safety first before we can take care of our children. While you are putting on your mask, the children will have difficulty breathing for a few seconds because they are not getting enough oxygen, but those few seconds won't cause them any health problems," a seasoned pilot explained.
2. When planes land at night, the lights on board are usually turned off to help passengers adjust to the darkness and to facilitate easier evacuation if the plane encounters any problems upon landing.

3. Sometimes the plane is close to the airport but the pilot still doesn't land. This has nothing to do with flying ability or technique, but sometimes it's because the weather is too harsh, causing the runway to freeze or become unsafe.
4. It's possible to unlock the airplane restroom from the outside because there's usually a hidden latch behind the "no smoking" sign. Simply lift the sign and gently slide the latch to open it.

The bathroom door can be opened from the outside.
5. The captain and co-pilot on a flight are served food from two different suppliers and are not allowed to share food. This is to ensure that if one of them suffers from food poisoning or an allergic reaction, the other will still be healthy enough to ensure a safe flight.
6. Sometimes even flight attendants don't follow flight safety rules. "My sister is a flight attendant. After she asked everyone to turn off their phones, she went back to her cabin and started texting," one of the respondents revealed.
7. Some pilots surveyed admitted to falling asleep while flying.

8. Do not drink any water other than bottled water on the plane. Other water sources on the plane are from unclean tanks.
9. When an aircraft is hijacked or attacked, the pilot will fly very slowly upon landing. This will alert the airport to the problem and allow for timely rescue efforts.
10. On some airlines, passengers' blankets and pillows are not regularly washed but are folded and stored away for use on the next flight.
