Secrets you may not know about flights

Oxygen masks only last 15 minutes and the bathroom door can be opened from the outside even if it is locked from the inside.

PageNextsharkhas just revealed some secrets on flights of world airlines that not everyone knows. This information was revealed by flight attendants and pilots:

1. Oxygen masks only provide oxygen for 15 minutes. But that's enough time for the pilots to bring you down to a safer altitude and allow you to breathe normally.

"It's more important to put on your own mask first, then put it on your children. We have to keep ourselves safe first before we can take care of our children. While you put on your mask, your children will have difficulty breathing for a few seconds because they are not getting oxygen, but those few seconds will not cause any harm to their health," said a veteran pilot.

2. When a plane lands at night, the lights on the plane are usually turned off to help passengers get used to seeing in the dark and to be able to evacuate easily if the plane has problems landing.

3. Sometimes the plane is close to the airport but the pilot still does not land. This has nothing to do with flying ability or technique, but sometimes because the weather is so severe that the runway is icy or unsafe.

4. The aircraft lavatory can be unlocked from the outside as there is usually a latch hidden behind the no smoking sign. Simply lift the sign and slide the latch to open.

The bathroom door can be opened from the outside.

5. The captain and co-pilot are served food from two different suppliers and are not allowed to eat from each other. This is to prevent the possibility of one of them getting food poisoning or having an allergic reaction, while the other is still healthy enough to ensure a safe flight.

6. Sometimes flight attendants don't follow safety rules either. "My sister is a flight attendant. After she asked everyone to turn off their phones, she went back to her cabin and started texting," one of the survey respondents revealed.

7. Some pilots surveyed admitted to falling asleep while flying.

8. Do not drink anything other than bottled water on the plane. All other water sources on the plane are taken from unclean tanks.

9. When a plane is hijacked or attacked, the pilot will fly very slowly when landing. This will alert the airport that something is wrong and provide timely rescue measures.

10. On some airlines, passenger blankets and pillows are not washed regularly but are folded and stored for the next flight.
