In recent days, the arrival of the "Kong: Skull Island" film crew in Vietnam to shoot key scenes has become a hot topic on all social media platforms. The filming locations, in particular, have garnered significant attention, as everyone is curious about the beauty of these places that prompted the entire film crew from the United States to travel there. Images of the filming locations, along with praise from the director, actors, and crew members, have only fueled further excitement among netizens.
Of the three main filming locations, Quang Binh is perhaps the most talked-about. This is because it's where the key scenes of King Kong's dwelling were filmed, featuring completely new locations that even young Vietnamese people may not have heard of. But with the director's praise of its "surreal beauty," many young people have added these locations to their must-visit lists this summer, before they become super hot tourist destinations after the film's release.
Visiting Quang Binh and the filming locations about two weeks after the film crew left, we rediscovered these "surreal" beautiful scenes without too much difficulty. In total, the film crew mainly filmed at Yen Phu Lake, Yen Phu Village (also known as the village of rising rocks), Chuot Cave, and Da Deo Pass.
As the most noteworthy location throughout the film crew's shooting in Quang Binh, Yen Phu village truly lived up to the director's description: "Suddenly beautiful." Also known as the village of rising rocks, Yen Phu possesses an incredibly unique beauty. Here, stalactite-like rock formations "emerge" from the ground, interspersed among the landscape and the charming houses in the village.
Yen Phu Lake is also one of the locations where important scenes from the film were shot. With its peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by mountains and forests, and the clear, tranquil lake below, it will surely be one of the hottest tourist destinations that young Vietnamese travel enthusiasts should pay attention to in the near future.
The Chà Nòi Valley, viewed from Đá Đẽo Pass, is also one of the locations featured in many spectacular filming locations. Đá Đẽo Pass is part of the Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng complex, a 17-kilometer-long pass on the Ho Chi Minh Highway, in Thượng Hóa commune, Minh Hóa district, Quảng Bình province. It boasts many majestic, magnificent, and mysterious landscapes.
Chuot Cave was chosen as the filming location for the scene where King Kong takes refuge. It is a large cave belonging to the Tu Lan cave system, still retaining its pristine and mysterious beauty. The film crew invested over 1 billion VND to build a road connecting Yen Tho village to Chuot Cave to facilitate travel and as a gift from the film crew to the local people.
