Lake Lemuria, Ukraine
In this list, we cannot fail to mention Lake Lemurian, also known as the "Dead Sea" of Ukraine. The lake area is located in the west of Syvash Bay, in the Kherson region of Ukraine, famous for its unique pink sea water.
The combination of high salinity, algae and bacteria gives Lake Lemuria its beautiful pink color.
The uniqueness of the Lemurian Lake comes from the concentrated salt solution in the water, which allows a unique type of algae called Dunaliella salina to survive. When exposed to sunlight, this algae produces Beta-carotene, the same antioxidant found in carrots, and turns the lake a captivating pink. The warm tropical climate adds to the unique and attractive color of the lake.
In the summer, as the water evaporates, the salt crystals created from the brine combine with the sand on the shore, creating strange shapes like "stalagmites". The Lemurian Lake also becomes an interesting destination for tourists looking for relaxation and healing, thanks to the high mineral content in the water.

Arriving in the Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico), Las Coloradas shines with surreal beauty, like a stretch of paradise. Originally salt fields formed from the ancient period of the Mayan civilization, zooplankton species, such as red algae and brine shrimp, thrive in the salty environment, causing the lake water to gradually turn orange and pale yellow.
