Valle de Cocora, Quindío, Colombia
Known as the world's tallest palm tree, capable of growing up to 50 meters, the wax palm is a species unique to Colombia, growing in the high-altitude Cocora Valley, in the northwestern administrative region of Quindío. Located at an altitude of 1,800 to 2,400 meters above sea level, the Cocora Valley, where the wax palm grows, is often shrouded in clouds and is known as the "valley in the clouds." The palm's leaves are dark green, and its trunk is cylindrical, upright, smooth, light-colored, and covered in a layer of wax.
