At stations on the railway line, VNR has increased staff on duty, guiding passengers to get queue numbers, declare information to buy tickets on the spot, and ticket sales hotlines are operating at full capacity.
For passengers who buy tickets online, the number of tickets sold has increased sharply, without any network congestion. In particular, VNR has stopped the "buy tickets, hold seats and pay later" feature so that buyers have time to pay within 30 minutes of booking. Each passenger can buy a maximum of 10 outbound tickets and 10 return tickets.
This year, the railway industry has many incentives and changes in ticket purchasing methods to make it more convenient for people.
During this period, there are 7 pairs of Thong Nhat passenger trains between Hanoi station - Saigon station and 13 pairs of regional passenger trains running regularly. Compared to Tet 2024, Tet 2025 has the difference that the railway industry does not sell extra seats; Change the type of carriages (convert 11 seat cars into sleeper cars). At the same time, stop the "buy ticket, hold seat and pay later" feature when passengers buy tickets online through ticketing websites.
According to Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, during the Tet holiday (from January 28 to January 31, 2025, i.e. from December 29 to the third day of Tet), the company will organize additional train pairs from Saigon to Da Nang, Tam Ky, Dieu Tri, Nha Trang, ... and vice versa, serving passengers traveling for spring.
