On the evening of October 4th, the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 took place at the Doan Mon Square Stage - Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center, Hanoi. In this setting, numerous scenes, dances, and fashion shows recreated Hanoi – the heroic, resilient, and courageous capital that is constantly innovating, developing, and integrating.

The Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 is an annual cultural and tourism event, and this year it has been designated by the city as one of the special events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). This event tells the story of the glorious history of the capital city over the past 70 years, with diverse activities taking place from the beginning of August, organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the Hanoi Women's Union, the Hanoi Youth Union, and other related units.
The opening night of the "Essence of Ao Dai" art program consisted of three parts: Golden History, Bridge of Interaction, and Journey of Dissemination. The program combined tradition and modernity, creating a special atmosphere that recreated the 70-year historical journey of the Liberation of Hanoi, with the image of the Vietnamese Ao Dai as the central theme.
The Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 is one of a series of events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi.
The program featured hundreds of famous singers and artists performing stirring songs associated with Hanoi's 70-year history. At the opening ceremony, collections of traditional Vietnamese ao dai dresses by designers from all over the country were showcased, including Do Trinh Hoai Nam, Duc Hung, Quang Hoa, Cao Minh Tien, Miss Vietnam Ngoc Han, Thuy Nguyen, La Hang, Vu Thao Giang, Luu Quynh Lan... and ao dai brands such as OZ Design House...
The festival took place continuously for 3 days from October 4th to 6th, 2024, with many programs attracting a large number of participants such as: City Bus of Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional dress); Ao Dai fashion show by designers and the final round of the Ao Dai design competition; Ao Dai Carnival held on October 5th with the participation of 1,000 people…
The Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 aims to honor the beauty of the traditional Ao Dai, showcasing its beauty and practicality, and making it a familiar garment for all walks of life and professions, frequently chosen for daily work and important events throughout the year.
Throughout the three days of the 2024 Ao Dai Tourism Festival, there will be many attractive activities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, said: “This year's Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival is held at a time when the whole country and the capital are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi; it is meticulously planned, large-scale, and attracts the participation of 6 artisans, 85 designers from the North, Central, and South regions; nearly 100 booths of designers, ao dai brands, accessory businesses, travel agencies… We hope that the activities of the 2024 Tourism Ao Dai Festival will bring international friends, tourists, and the people impressive experiences and profound emotions about the beauty of national culture, along with the 70-year historical journey of Hanoi in the flow of heritage and development.”
Throughout the 3 days of the 2024 Ao Dai Tourism Festival, there will be many attractive activities such as: an exhibition space for photographic documentation of Ao Dai; a display and introduction space for products from designers, Ao Dai brands, tourism products and services, and traditional craft villages; a cultural and artistic space; a workshop space to experience the process of designing and creating mini Ao Dai products; a folk games space; a space for demonstrating the creation of works by artisans; a space to enjoy Hanoi cuisine "Thang Long Five Flavors"...
