The Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2024 is an annual cultural and tourism event, and this year it has been designated by the city as one of the special events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). The Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival tells stories of the glorious history of the capital city over the past 70 years, with diverse activities taking place from the beginning of August, organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the Hanoi Women's Union, the Hanoi Youth Union, and related units. The festival will take place from October 4-6 at the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center - Hanoi.

Through a series of events aimed at honoring and preserving the unique cultural beauty of the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai dress; making the Ao Dai an impressive souvenir gift for international tourists visiting Vietnam; providing creative inspiration for designers; offering opportunities for experience and exchange for design students from universities in the city; creating opportunities for exchange, cooperation, and joint development between Hanoi businesses and domestic and international businesses; and contributing to promoting Hanoi tourism as a "safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive destination" for domestic and international tourists every autumn in Hanoi.
Designers showcase the ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) designs that will be presented at the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024.
The main program will take place from October 4th to 6th at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi, featuring a series of attractive activities within the framework of this year's festival, such as: the opening ceremony themed "The Quintessence of Ao Dai" which will recreate a part of Hanoi's 70-year history, with the Ao Dai as the central image; a comprehensive art program including folk dance performances and the Ao Dai Carnival "Hanoi Women Integrating and Developing" - a large-scale and attractive performance and parade; and the "Ao Dai Night" art program featuring 70 designers from the North, Central, and South regions of Vietnam.
During the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024, approximately 80 booths promoting, displaying, and introducing ao dai products and accessories from renowned designers and ao dai brands from the North, Central, and South regions of Vietnam will be set up at the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center in Hanoi. The Ao Dai Carnival will take place on October 5th and will parade along a route from Doan Mon Square, Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center - Hanoi - Hoang Dieu - Hoang Van Thu - Doc Lap - Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

In addition, the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival also features a space designed to recreate a part of the memories of many tourists with folk games that are rich in national identity: O An Quan (a traditional board game), bamboo pole dancing in Ao Dai, stilt walking in Ao Dai… The Hanoi culinary space, showcasing light and flavorful Hanoi dishes, will be an interesting stop and an attractive experience for tourists and people from all over the country visiting the festival.
The program also includes activities such as: a fashion show of ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) by designers and the final round of the ao dai design competition; exhibitions and displays showcasing ao dai by designers and brands; tourism products and services, traditional craft villages; demonstrations of artwork creation by artisans; and a space to enjoy Hanoi's five flavors of cuisine…
