Changi Airport is Singapore's most famous airport and was recently named the world's best airport in 2019 by Skytrax. Let's explore some of the exciting things travelers can experience at Changi Airport!

Changi Airport boasts many outstanding features, including the nearly $1.25 billion Jewel Changi Centre, spanning 130,000 square meters, with its lush gardens and the world's tallest indoor waterfall (approximately 40 meters).

Immerse yourself in nature.

Changi Airport's lounges are all lush with greenery, allowing travelers to breathe in the fresh air. Lounge 1 features a rooftop cactus garden with over 100 species of cacti from Africa and the Americas. Lounge 2 boasts a sunflower garden on the roof, and inside the lounge is an orchid garden with rare orchid species, displayed seasonally in Singapore. Lounge 3 is filled with tropical plants and butterflies. Additionally, Changi Airport offers Shiseido Valley and Petal Garden, teeming with beautiful flowers and animals for visitors to admire.

1

Admire the world's tallest indoor waterfall.

The waterfall at Changi Airport is 40 meters high, cascading down seven levels from a circular opening in the glass dome of the building designed by architect Safdie. The waterfall opened on April 17th, and visitors can admire this masterpiece when visiting Changi Airport. Architect Buro Happold designed the tubular steel and glass roof, with its widest point spanning over 200 meters, while architect Peter Walker and partners created the climate-controlled indoor forest.

Swimming in the Balinese style

Interestingly, visitors to Singapore's Changi Airport can enjoy a Balinese-style swimming pool. Located on the rooftop of Lounge 1, the pool is designed in the Balinese style and is free for passengers staying at the Ambassador Transit Hotel. Visitors can also use the pool, hot tub, showers, towels, and non-alcoholic beverages at a very low cost.

3

Enjoy blockbuster movies.

While waiting for their flights, travelers can watch Hollywood blockbusters. There are two cinemas at Changi Airport: one in Terminal 2 and one in Terminal 3. The T3 cinema shows the latest films, while the T2 cinema screens exciting movies on Fox Film Premium. Both cinemas are open 24 hours a day.

4

Ride the tallest airport slide ever.

Being confined on an airplane for hours can drive even the most experienced pilots crazy. Travelers can entertain themselves by riding the world's tallest airport slide at Changi Airport, reaching speeds of up to 6 meters per second. This pastime is not suitable for children, as regulations require participants to be between 1.3 meters and under 2 meters tall to operate the slide.

5

Taste authentic Singaporean street food.

From Hainanese chicken rice to Bak Kut Teh (pork rib tea), Singaporean street food is truly legendary. And you can also sample some of Southeast Asia's best at Changi Airport's Lounge 3. Just follow the arrows to the 1960s-themed food street, and you can enjoy a plethora of local delicacies, all expertly prepared and served.

7

Enjoy a free tour of Singapore.

If you have plenty of free time while waiting at Changi Airport, you can take advantage of a free tour of Singapore. There are two tours to choose from: the Heritage Tour and the City Tour. Each tour lasts approximately two and a half hours and is free. You just need to go to the registration booths in the transit area with your passport and airline ticket to be assisted.

8

Lost in the labyrinth

Changi Airport has two mazes: the Hedge Maze and the Mirror Maze. The Hedge Maze features a green design and gives visitors a feeling of being close to nature. The Mirror Maze evokes childhood memories with the possibility of bumping heads into mirrors while exploring. Be cautious, reach out your hand, and you'll have a fun experience.

9

Play some video games

At Changi Airport's Lounge 2, management has created a fun entertainment area called the Entertainment Deck. From Xbox 360s to Kinect stations, the Entertainment Deck is a one-stop multimedia entertainment center for idle fingers. And best of all, it's all free.

10

Experience art exhibitions and installations.

Beyond nature and entertainment at Changi Airport, the Jewel complex also offers cultural value. Visitors can enjoy modern artwork by Singaporean artists, including sculptures and paintings.
