Chư Đăng Ya, meaning "wild ginger root" in the J'rai language, is an extinct volcano located in Ploi Lagri village, Chư Đăng Ya commune, Chư Păh district, Gia Lai province. Nestled amidst the vast Tây Nguyên (Central Highlands) mountains, this extinct volcano is now a thriving agricultural area for local people, its volcanic rock layers transformed into fertile red soil over millions of years.

Not only is it a farming area for the local people, Mount Chu Dang Ya is also a destination for adventurous travelers, boasting majestic natural scenery. Besides the red of the basalt soil and the green of the crops, the area is also adorned with the red of ginger flowers during the rainy season and the vibrant yellow of wild sunflowers during the dry season. Chu Dang Ya is truly a must-visit destination for those who love the pristine, unspoiled beauty of the Central Highlands.
