In the category of the world's leading islands, Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) is among the top 25. The pearl island is also the only representative from Vietnam in this category.

Travel & Leisure reports that tourists love Phu Quoc for its fine white sand beaches and delicious food. This is also the reason why the island is included in the ranking.
In addition, according to the magazine, the island is also famous for its fish sauce and pepper production, as well as its coral reefs and tropical forests.
The ideal time to visit Phu Quoc is from November to April of the following year. During this period, there is less rain, the sea is calm, the waves are gentle, and the warm sunshine is perfect for outdoor activities.

In the category of the 25 most popular cities voted for by tourists, Hoi An was also ranked 20th. The ancient town is the only representative from Vietnam on the list.
The 25 best cities were determined based on criteria such as hotels, restaurants, rich cultural heritage, attractive tourist attractions, friendliness and hospitality, cuisine, as well as Covid-19 prevention measures, shopping services, and overall value.
According to the poll results, Hoi An ranked 20th with a score of 88.9221 points, ahead of Cuzo (Peru), Cape Town (South Africa), Charleston (South Carolina, USA), Bangkok (Thailand), and Ljubljana (Slovenia).
The Old Quarter was also among the top 3 in a poll organized by Travel & Leisure in 2020.
Besides Hoi An in Vietnam, Southeast Asia is represented by four other cities: Bangkok (ranked 24th, Thailand), Siem Reap (ranked 15th, Cambodia), Chiang Mai (ranked 7th, Thailand), and Ubud (ranked 3rd, Indonesia).
Notably, from its eighth position in Travel & Leisure magazine's ranking last year, Oaxaca (Mexico) has become the best city in the world in 2022.
