Saigon Saigon bar, located on the rooftop of the Caravelle Hotel, was honored by the prestigious Time Out magazine (UK) in its list of "20 most impressive rooftop bars in the world" in 2024. It's not only a fantastic entertainment destination for bar/pub enthusiasts but also a space steeped in history, connected to important moments of old Saigon.

In an article on its homepage, Time Out magazine describes Saigon Saigon as a "classic gem" in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Opened in 1959, the bar on the 9th floor of the Caravelle Hotel was a frequent haunt of international journalists during the Vietnam War. It is also the location where photographer Hubert Van Es took his famous photograph of the 1975 evacuation from Saigon – an image of a helicopter carrying Americans off the roof of a building near the US embassy.

With its open spaces, classic French-inspired design, and panoramic city center views, Saigon Saigon attracts both locals and international tourists. Time Out suggests that visitors should order a "Miss Saigon" cocktail or try Saigon Special beer to fully experience the blend of nostalgia and modernity.

Time Out's list of "20 Best Rooftop Bars in the World" this year also includes other famous venues such as AER Lounge (Mumbai, India), Terraza Cibeles (Madrid, Spain), and Sky Bar (Bangkok, Thailand).

If you're looking for an entertainment destination that also holds historical significance, perfect for celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, Saigon Saigon is a worthwhile option to consider this April 30th.
