Saigon Saigon Bar, located on the rooftop of Caravelle Hotel, was honored by the prestigious Time Out magazine (UK) in the list of “20 most impressive rooftop bars in the world” in 2024. This is not only a great entertainment destination for bar/pub enthusiasts but also a space filled with historical stories, associated with important moments of old Saigon.

In an article on the Time Out homepage, the magazine described Saigon Saigon as a “classic gem” in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Opened in 1959, the bar on the 9th floor of the Caravelle Hotel was a popular hangout for international reporters during the Vietnam War. This was also the location where photographer Hubert Van Es took the famous photo of the evacuation from Saigon in 1975 - an image of a helicopter evacuating Americans from the roof of a building near the US embassy.

With its open space, classic French design, and panoramic views of the city center, Saigon Saigon attracts both locals and international visitors. Time Out suggests that when coming here, visitors should order a “Miss Saigon” cocktail or try Saigon Special beer to fully experience the nostalgic and modern atmosphere of this place.

Time Out's list of the "20 best rooftop bars in the world" this year also includes many other famous places such as AER Lounge (Mumbai, India), Terraza Cibeles (Madrid, Spain), and Sky Bar (Bangkok, Thailand).

If you are looking for an entertainment destination that still has a historical mark to join in the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, Saigon Saigon is a choice worth trying on this April 30th occasion.
