A pub called Juden Highball, located in Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, will begin welcoming customers from the beginning of February – Valentine's Day month – as a refuge and solace for singles, or those who don't want to go out drinking with friends or their loved ones.

By arranging all the seats individually and using partitions, along with a tablet for ordering, the pub ensured a certain distance between customers during the Covid-19 pandemic while preserving the Japanese drinking culture – drinking sake with snacks.

The pub's name, "Juden," means "recovery," reflecting its desire to offer a private space for anyone feeling disoriented by the major changes brought about by the pandemic. And, even after Covid-19 ends, the pub will remain open to welcome introverted customers seeking a place to unwind.
