From May 1st, Quang Ninh province will officially introduce a fee for three tour routes around Ha Long Bay, one of the world's natural wonders, for tourists who choose to cruise on non-overnight boats. This decision is not only a financial adjustment but also reflects a strategic vision for the sustainable management and development of this precious heritage.
This includes two new itineraries and one itinerary that has already been introduced to serve tourists on the restaurant ship, but without any fees. This policy was officially approved by the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council on February 26th.
Quang Ninh will implement additional fees for three Halong Bay sightseeing tours for tourists traveling on cruise ships without overnight stays.
Halong Bay Tour 6 (VHL6 - new route): This route runs from the harbor - Elephant Foot Island - Ba Cua Bay - Tung Lam Island - Cap Bai Island (the final point is adjacent to Gia Luan, Lan Ha Bay, Hai Phong) or vice versa, with a fee of 150,000 VND/trip/person/day.
On the new Halong Bay tour (VHL7), tourists will visit Halong Bay routes 1, 2, 3, and 4, at a fee of 600,000 VND per person per day, which is the highest fee for tourists traveling by boat without staying overnight.
Halong Bay Cruise 8 (VHL8 - already in service): This route runs from Tuan Chau Passenger Port - Halong International Passenger Port - South Cau Trang area, with a fee of 70,000 VND/person/day. This is a coastal cruise route in Halong City, which has served tourists on restaurant boats for many years without charging a fee.
From May 1st, Quang Ninh province will charge an entrance fee for the coastal route of Ha Long Bay.
Quang Ninh province has made a timely and decisive decision to add an entrance fee for tours along the coast of Ha Long Bay. This is an important move, not only aimed at increasing revenue for the local budget but also demonstrating a deep concern for the preservation and promotion of the value of this world natural heritage site.
According to the Provincial People's Council, the addition of fees for tours in Ha Long Bay is a necessary and urgent step to ensure strict compliance with current regulations, while also meeting the stringent requirements in the management, conservation, and promotion of the invaluable value of the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage Site. This is not only a financial adjustment, but also a strong commitment from Quang Ninh province to protect and preserve one of the most unique natural wonders on the planet.
This is an important move, not only aimed at boosting local government revenue but also demonstrating a deep concern for preserving and promoting the value of this world natural heritage site.
The adjustment to the additional entrance fee will officially take effect from May 1st, a carefully chosen date to ensure sufficient time for thorough preparation of the necessary conditions for implementing the fee collection. During this period, Quang Ninh province will focus on guiding and extensively disseminating information to local people and tourists to raise awareness of the importance of preserving Ha Long Bay. Simultaneously, the province will also provide detailed information to travel agencies, facilitating their implementation of contractual obligations, as well as informing them about adjustments and additions to contracts in the next phase.
Furthermore, Quang Ninh province will also develop detailed plans for the construction and marketing of new tourism products, as well as sign new contracts, to diversify tourism experiences in Ha Long Bay. These efforts aim not only to increase revenue for the local budget but also to contribute to improving the quality of tourism services, providing memorable experiences for visitors when visiting this stunning natural wonder.
