This news immediately attracted the attention of many adventure and exploration enthusiasts worldwide. However, along with the excitement and curiosity came numerous questions about entry regulations, travel conditions, and new changes in this "mysterious land."

After a long period of "freezing" due to the COVID-19 pandemic, North Korea is gradually reopening its doors to tourism; however, destinations are currently limited to the city of Rason, which houses a special economic zone. This decision has led many to wonder: Why did North Korea choose Rason? Is this a "test" for new economic changes?

Although Rason is currently the only area open to international tourists, this could be an important stepping stone for larger changes in the future. If successful, the tourism model in Rason could be replicated in other areas of North Korea, opening up opportunities for tourists to explore this "mysterious land."
