Introducing the reality TV show Super Cake.

Baking has become one of the fastest-growing professions in Western countries and some Asian countries. Over the past five years, along with the development of the culinary and tourism sectors, the baking industry in Vietnam has shown strong growth.

Recognizing the strong growth potential of the market and the baking profession, Super Cake was created not only as a platform for skilled bakers to interact, learn, and further hone their professional skills, but also to connect food connoisseurs and inspire audiences who love baking and home baking.

The program is a collaboration between Ho Chi Minh City Television and TV Hub Joint Stock Company, and is broadcast on HTV7 channel at 8:20 PM every Wednesday, starting from October 25, 2023.

A novel and fun format.

At Super Bakery, 24 skilled bakers are divided into 8 groups of 3 to compete in a knockout round. The bakers must overcome challenges that showcase their creativity, skill, and meticulousness to impress the judges based on criteria such as: delicious flavor; attractive and creative presentation; adherence to the instructions; food safety and hygiene; and excellent presentation. The winning baker in each episode will have the opportunity to advance to the next rounds of the program.

Super Cake Challenge: At the beginning of each episode, the judges will present a Mystery Box containing a surprise gift. This could be specially designed cakes or unique ingredients to inspire the bakers' creativity.

The Super Cake Reveal is a challenge for bakers to showcase their knowledge and baking talent. The owner of the cake that meets the judges' criteria will receive a Super Cake Hat and have the opportunity to continue in the program.

The dramatic moments of Super Cake

"The Bell of Power": This bell not only serves to signal the start and end of the competition but also acts as a turning point in the match.

The winner of the Super Cake Challenge will have the chance to disrupt the two competitors in the Super Cake Reveal round by pressing the buzzer to call out the '7-item Spicy and Sour Menu'.

Between the two contestants using the "7-dish Spicy and Sour Menu," whoever is quickest to press the buzzer will receive assistance from the judges for 3 minutes.

The "7-Dish Spicy and Sour Menu" is a "menu" that includes challenges designed to disrupt the competition process, such as locking hands while baking, scooping dough with the mouth, dancing to a trending song in the baking area, etc., helping bakers demonstrate their competition strategy; observation skills; adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and the composure of a pastry chef.

Miss Ngoc Chau will be accompanying the contestants of Super Cake.

As the host of the program, Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 Ngoc Chau expressed her excitement at accompanying the contestants and watching the entire process of creating a cake. She shared that she also has a strong passion for food, especially pastries: “I think a cake contributes to making a dish complete. I often jokingly say that it is the ‘happy ending’ of any meal. I have also experienced many types of cakes, from European, Asian, and even Vietnamese, each with its own flavor and characteristics. For me, a delicious cake can evoke emotions, make me feel moved, and create a desire to try it again and again. I hope that in Super Cake I will have the opportunity to taste many such cakes.”

As the person behind the dazzling and fun scenes of Super Cake, director Nguyen Nam also shared that the idea for Super Cake originated from everyone's childhood story: "Back then, whenever our grandmothers or mothers came home from the market, the first thing we did was run out to hug them and ask if they bought anything for us. Our mothers would always buy a cake, not only so their children could enjoy a delicious treat, but also to bring them joy with a small gift. From that story, Super Cake was born with the slogan 'More than just a cake.' It's not simply a sweet cake, but also a story of love and memories within it. Super Cake will bring audiences humor, fun, and entertainment. The bakers who come to Super Cake always bring stories from their hearts, from their lives, to create products that may be beautiful or ugly, but will touch the hearts of the audience."

Super Cake received a firm "yes" from the main sponsor, Andros, due to their shared desire to create a large-scale competition and spread the value of baking to the audience. Speaking at the event, Mr. Valentin Tran, General Director of Andros Asia, shared: “It is an honor for Andros and Valentin to be present at this event and introduce to all of you a new reality TV show, Super Cake. Outstanding pastry chefs who overcome challenges and create perfect "masterpiece" cakes that impress the judges will receive the following prizes: The winning chef will receive the Super Cake Champion title with a prize of 50 million VND, a Sunhouse kitchen equipment set, one year of Andros Professional baking products, and the opportunity to participate in an international baking competition sponsored by ABC Bakery. The runner-up in the Super Cake competition will receive a prize of 30 million VND, a Sunhouse kitchen equipment set, and one year of Andros Professional baking products.

Besides the attractive prizes from the program, the winner of the first season of Super Cake also received a spot to compete internationally, opening up opportunities to exchange, learn, and promote Vietnamese cuisine and the baking industry to friends around the world.
