Launching the NCOVI national health declaration application

10/03/2020

On the afternoon of March 9, the national health declaration application called NCOVI was officially launched in Vietnam. The NCOVI application is currently being updated on Google Play (for Android) and will soon be available on the App Store (for iOS).

NCOVI is an application that helps people provide information to support the health sector in finding cases that need attention to ensure proactive prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. Based on the data sent, the health system will know the cases that need attention to ensure the fastest and most effective medical support possible.

Ứng dụng NCOVI còn là kênh chính thức để cơ quan nhà nước có thẩm quyền cập nhật tình hình dịch bệnh, gửi các khuyến cáo y tế, sức khoẻ tới người dân

The NCOVI application is also an official channel for competent state agencies to update the epidemic situation and send medical and health recommendations to people.

Although it is not a mandatory application for health declaration like foreigners entering Vietnam, according to Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, people proactively providing health and medical information, and two-way interaction with health agencies through the NCOVI application is one of the very specific manifestations of the spirit of "the whole people fighting the epidemic".

The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed out two very important differences between the NCOVI application and many similar applications that have been developed. Firstly, the information and instructions on NCOVI (including maps of epidemic areas, situations and instructions in different situations) are all official. Secondly, because it is an official application, all information provided by people via NCOVI is strictly managed by the state, used only for the purpose of helping people protect their health and fight the epidemic, absolutely not used for commercial purposes, and does not violate privacy.

For those who do not use phones or computers, other family members can assist in health and medical declarations.

From the first version of the NCOVI application, the Deputy Prime Minister called on all businesses with similar or better applications to join in upgrading the NCOVI application and expanding its features to serve the fight against the epidemic.

How to declare national health using the NCOVI (Vietnam Health Declaration) application

  • Step 1: Download the Vietnam Health Declaration application on the Google Play app store for Android phones (or atThis).
  • Step 2: Open the app and register an account by entering your phone number, then enter the OTP code sent to the phone number for confirmation.
  • Step 3: After successfully logging in, you will enter the main screen interface of the application. There are 2 sections here: Entry Health Declaration and National Health Declaration. If you are not traveling from an epidemic area or entering the country, select National Health Declaration.
  • Step 4: Proceed to enter complete information to make the declaration. It should be noted that complete, accurate and honest declaration will help authorities isolate and localize the outbreak promptly, preventing the spread.
  • Step 5: Click the Submit button, wait until the screen displays the message "Sincerely thank you for completing the health declaration". Once completed, the declaration information will be updated by the system to the anti-epidemic centers and agencies of Vietnam for management.
  • In addition, on the home page of the application there is also a Feedback section. In case you discover someone at risk of contracting the disease or has traveled from an epidemic area, has been in contact with an infected person, etc., you can use this Feedback function so that the Government can take timely measures to isolate and handle the situation.
