Soap For Hope - Love Spreads Through Every Bar of Soap
The Soap for Hope project aims to recycle used hotel soap bars into new soap for the local community. The recycled soap is produced using a simple yet unique and safe process. The new soap is then distributed locally or given to underprivileged children or community organizations.
The "Soap for Hope" project holds great significance for the community.
With overwhelmingly positive feedback, the program has continuously spread and expanded worldwide. To date, more than 27 countries in Southeast Asia and Africa have implemented it. It is estimated that approximately 400,000 people in local communities benefit from this program each year.
With the support of Diversey, Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc once again relaunched the project with a small event aimed at sharing and guiding customers, partners, and the community on how to recycle soap using the cold-pressing method without electricity. The event was a success, with the participation of Mr. Nguyen Van Tay (Regional Director of Diversey - Phu Quoc & Southwest Vietnam), Mr. Nguyen The Anh (Principal of Duong Dong 1 Secondary School), Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri (Vice Principal of Duong Dong 1 Secondary School), Mr. Tran Quoc Chau, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Responsibility Coordination, Radisson Hotels Group Vietnam and Thailand. And finally, Mr. Nick Bauer, General Manager of the resort, along with all the staff - the people who created the memorable moments of Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc.
“Recycling soap, while not a new project, has so far allowed us to contribute to the community while also raising awareness about hygiene and safety, which is a priority for the resort. Furthermore, all proceeds from the sale of 100 bars of soap at the event were donated to the Back to School Scholarship program at Duong Dong 1 Secondary School,” shared Nick Bauer, General Manager of Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc.

Since its opening, a commitment to responsible business practices has always been a guiding principle in Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc's business management philosophy. Numerous responsible business initiatives supporting the local community have been implemented, such as the Bamboo Farm model, a green project realized within the resort's lush tropical garden landscape, and the program using bamboo straws instead of plastic to help reduce carbon emissions and plastic consumption, etc. In addition, the Fish Sauce Check-in Counter introduces high-quality local specialties to guests, further supporting the local community.
Creating Livelihoods for the Local Community - Linen For Life
Alongside Soap for Hope, the Linen for Life project, supported by Diversey, will be launched this year to empower the poor and disadvantaged families. Through this program, underprivileged households in the community will be able to earn a small living by recycling unused fabrics from Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc into useful new items that can be sold, thereby generating additional income.
