Spring in Ha Giang is as beautiful as a fairy tale.
It's difficult to find words to describe the scenery of the Ha Giang rocky plateau when spring arrives. At the moment of transition at the beginning of the new year, the land of gray rocks gradually dons the vibrant colors of plants and flowers.

At that moment, the entire landscape of Ha Giang suddenly brightened and became full of life. Everywhere you could find unique touches like the pristine white of plum blossoms, the deep pink of peach blossoms, the yellow of mustard flowers, and the pale pink of buckwheat... Perhaps it is because of this bright natural scenery that this place is called "flowers blooming on rocks".
Ha Giang is like a vibrant tapestry painting that overwhelms and captivates visitors, making them "lose themselves" in the wild, rustic, and natural colors of this land.

Having fallen in love with the fairytale land of Ha Giang in spring, Phan Thanh Canh (33 years old, currently living and working in Ha Long City) said: “The scenery of Ha Giang in spring is very beautiful. Peach blossoms, plum blossoms, and mustard flowers bloom all along the roads. Sometimes there are roads where clouds fill the valleys, and other times the sun shines through the early morning fog, creating shimmering streaks on the tranquil mountain slopes, covering the villages like paintings.”
Starting from Ha Long City, Phan Canh spent four days admiring the beauty of Ha Giang, the northernmost province of Vietnam. During his journey, he visited Ha Giang City, Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Lung Cu, Dong Van, and Meo Vac… Wanting to fully experience this land, he always strived to capture the most authentic and cherished moments there.

Sometimes the roads are lined with sea-clouds that blanket the valleys, other times the sun's rays pierce through the early morning mist, casting shimmering streaks on the tranquil mountain slopes, illuminating picturesque villages.
Under the morning sun or in the lingering mist, even if you just hastily raise your camera to take a picture, every corner of Ha Giang still exudes its own unique beauty that is hard to find anywhere else. The scenery and the people here are so poetic, simple, and down-to-earth that anyone would be amazed by their tranquility.

Smiles from the highlands
Besides that, spring in Ha Giang is also about the bright smiles of the Hmong people or the vibrant baskets of mustard flowers carried on the shoulders of children. Reaching out to touch the delicate layer of mist before your eyes, feeling the crisp coolness of the early season wind, and watching the highland children playing and laughing heartily, visitors will instinctively feel the innocent and happy smiles in the life of the mountains and forests.

Speaking to Travellive, Phan Canh said: “Traveling to Ha Giang remains addictive because the people here are extremely simple, friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The most impressive thing is that along the entire route, the children wave and smile to tourists. Whether at tourist spots like Tham Ma Pass, Pao's House, or just along a quiet, deserted road, every child is like that.”
Gentle breezes blow across the terraced rice fields, meander along the streams, weave their way into the forests, and then blend into the melody of nature. Despite the hardships of life, the eyes of the people in the highlands are so beautiful and captivating that they stir our hearts with emotion.

In particular, the children in the highlands are incredibly adorable. They run along the road, their faces smudged with dirt but beaming with innocent, radiant smiles. Deep within their eyes are eyes that seem to smile, and at times, looking into those eyes, one might even feel they shine brighter than the stars in the sky…
“I haven’t traveled to many provinces in the Northwest and Northwest, but in Ha Giang, meeting the children made me truly understand the line ‘Their smiles are as refreshing as well water, and their eyes as clear as a source of light’ from Den Vau’s song ‘Cooking for You.’ The children were all very friendly and willing to take photos with tourists, so I didn’t have any difficulties,” Phan Canh shared.

Looking at those friendly smiles, visitors instinctively feel the closeness and authenticity of life in the highlands. It makes you want to slow down and immediately grab your camera to capture that wonderful everyday moment. It all feels like a fairy tale in real life!
