Hue has a gentle charm when spring arrives.
Hue possesses a unique and unmistakable beauty in every season. However, it is in spring that one can truly appreciate the poetic and romantic charm of Hue, unmatched anywhere else. Spring marks the transition between seasons, when the winter chill gradually recedes, giving way to warm, radiant sunshine. In this peaceful ancient capital, a new vitality seems to envelop everything, yet a touch of shyness and profound tranquility remains.
It is only in spring that one can fully appreciate the poetic and romantic beauty of Hue, a beauty unmatched anywhere else.
Choosing Hue for his spring trip at the beginning of the year, photographer Dang Cong Loi said: “Hue is already very poetic. However, the addition of many fresh flowers, along with the two meticulously arranged dragon statues in the park along the Perfume River, makes the public space even more special and impressive.”
Due to his busy schedule, Cong Loi could only visit Hue on weekends. In spring, Hue captivates travelers with its pleasant, mild weather—neither too hot nor too cold. The city boasts clear blue skies, gentle golden sunshine, and shady streets welcoming visitors from afar.

The figures of locals strolling along the streets could be seen.
Young people excitedly gathered to camp and have a picnic in the park.
The small streets dotted with bicycles and people strolling along, or young people chatting and picnicking in the park… All of these everyday scenes contribute to making Hue even more interesting. At that moment, one suddenly finds Hue incredibly gentle and peaceful.
Hue boasts many famous landmarks, not only showcasing the architectural beauty of a bygone era but also harboring precious historical stories. Furthermore, when adorned in the radiant colors of spring, Hue becomes even more serene and approachable. Perhaps Hue, in the heart of every traveler, is always so gentle and pure?

As spring arrives, the lush green of the grass, trees, and flowers blends harmoniously with the gently flowing Perfume River. It was these simple things that impressed the photographer, leading him to choose the park on both banks of the Perfume River to capture these lovely everyday moments.

“I have a wonderful memory, and that's the sunset. As the sun gradually sank below the horizon, streaks of light began to paint the sky. My friend and I found a grassy spot by the river and sat leisurely, watching the sun, like a radiant salted egg, and everyone around us. In that moment, I felt an amazing feeling that's hard to describe in words. If you have the chance to visit Hue, you shouldn't miss the sunsets,” the photographer shared with Travellive.
According to Cong Loi, the key to good photography is lighting. Simply having enough light is enough to produce a beautiful photograph. In particular, the photos of Hue in spring were taken on a morning bathed in sunlight, so everything appears vibrant and endearing.

When asked about the best time to visit Hue, Cong Loi immediately replied that it's spring. According to him, the period from around Tet (Lunar New Year) to April has beautiful weather, making it ideal for visiting Hue and taking lovely photos as souvenirs.
In particular, the photographer also candidly shared: “I love Hue for the way its people cherish the green spaces and ancient structures in their homeland. From the trees and communal houses to every flower and blade of grass, everything is cherished, preserved, and systematically incorporated into the urban planning by the people of Hue. Through this photo series, I also want to spread the message to everyone that this is a lifestyle of loving nature, building a clean and green environment, and valuing the heritage of the past.”
